Post notification in WordPress help

I want to pick the brains of those who may be able to help me here.
I am using WordPress and when the site is updated to 4.1, the post notification plug in no longer works. WP state that they no longer maintain it.

Does anybody know of a plug in similar that does the same thing?

I have to add here that I am not the technical person. I have a webmaster but he doesn't know.

So if you do know, please give me info to give him.
