in help, need a starting point

hello everyone
i'll get straight into the topic and sorry if its in the wrong place and sorry, there are just too many topics in the forum that i had gotten lost

in short, im asking for a direction where to start learning programming(noting that my final goal is to reach a gaming developer stage which i know takes many years to achieve but im willing to spend time and work towards it)

knowing that, i know nothing more than the basic of the basics like, really really really basic stuff nothing more, (at quickbasic language, i know its a dead language though).

and which language to pick C++ or python?
(from my search i noticed that most people recommend these 2)

and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each,?

and lastly, can you please provide me of some place that gives just tutorials for starters and beginners? or that gives some plan to work with to learn swiftly and stuff for either of the languages ? (or which is more viable for ending up as a games dev in the later many years)

i know its hard, i know it takes many years, im fully aware of that, so please not bashing, but i want to at least do my best(coz obviously schools and colleges and standard stuff just dont work well, enough since these systems are just not good enough) and try to end up as a game developer on some amazing games some day (ik its kinda arrogant saying that i'd work towards it but oh well)

and sorry for the long topic and i'll say it again, im at totally like 1% or 2% or even less i just know like as i said in the start of the topic, the very smallest basics of basics and some basic commands and stuff nothing deep (in QB).

darned i intended to make the topic short, sorry again

edit: english is my second language so.... sorry for that too

    Hey mate,

Start with c++ without a doubt. It's a horrible, *******ized language, but it'll be the most useful IMO.

c++ will make it a piece of cake to program in A LOT of other languages as well: java, javascript, c#, c, php to name a few...

Most games for PC/consoles are written in c++, android runs java/c++.. I don't know what IOS uses

Python is as slow as a one legged dog compared to c++. While it may be useful for scripting, a few desktop apps/websites etc.. I don't see it competing with lower level languages any time soon.

    Cheers,
    Michael

I would agree with Michael, Embedded Systems and Gaming are the recent era, so go for C++

    Thanks
