Need to Hire Warrior for Script ASAP! Have No Idea in What Code . . .

Thank you for checking out my post!

Here's the situation - I have an ebay store that sells cheap items from overseas. I do pretty well, but there is a MAJOR catch!! My overseas shipper takes 15 business days (no holidays or weekends) to ship and I get an email from just about every single buyer wanting to know when to expect their item!!

What I need:

Form that I can put into each auction where people can enter a date & out spits their expected arrival date.

I'd like something that didn't just out put a single date, but rather a range of dates - maybe even a calendar image that has the section of days highlighted when they can expect their item & the 15th day in red or something. Anyway - that can all be figured out later

In what code is something like this created & is it hard?

Thank You!! Obviously I will pay whatever the going rate is for such things.

    Hi Ann

Off hand I'd be tempted to do this with JavaScript, however as this is an eBay-hosted page it might be a challange as eBay limits what you can do with JavaScript. It would probably be possible to output a text date (or date range) using the eBay site but a full-fledged calendar may be more difficult.

    HTML and JavaScript

I was thinking that instead it might be possible to refer your buyers to another, non e-bay hosted page that could provide a calendar that shows the estimated delivery dates for their purchases. If it was always the same time frame for every project it could be done in either JavaScript or PHP, if it was a different date on a per-item basis then I think a PHP script that was "fed" by a MySQL database (so you could add new items) would be the best design.

There are a lot of talented programmers on the forum so someone may already have a solution in mind, however please feel free to PM me if you want to discuss these options further.

    Hi there,

I'd be happy to work with you. That is a great idea if you have delayed shipping like that. I can develop this for you at a good price. I would use PHP to code this.

We could set it up so that they can select the date they purchased the item with a popup calendar. From there they would be taken to the next page with a calendar to simply map things out for them. The script would count the 15th day and making that day appear in red, or with a nice graphic showing that is the day there item will arrive.

We could also take it a step further and have the orders in the system. For example, once you receive an order, you would enter their name and e-mail into the program, and it would automatically send an e-mail to them letting them know that there order has been processed and it would automatically give them a pin code that they can enter into the system to check shipping/order status. That way it's even more professional, but may require a bit more work on your end to enter their info. Let me know your thoughts.

You can contact me at matt@snidge.com. I'd love to talk more. I can also show you an example of a project that I did for a client to track orders.

I'll look forward to hearing from you!
