How to hire a freelance lite php/html/css person

Hi guys and gals,

I need to hire a person to do some freelance for my "on the fly"--maybe 3 hours this week, 2 hours next, 5 hours the next, etc.

The stuff is not complicated, but a good understanding of PHP/HTML/CSS is required.

I want someone who knows what they are doing and can complete these small projects quickly and reliably.

How do I evaluate whether someone can do the job or not?

    Normally you can take it to some place like craigslist and post it there. I know when I was in college before working full time I would scan craigslist for quick "project to project" listings that would only require a few hours a week, or a one time offer to make side money.

    normally if it was web-based they would just ask for a few pieces of work to show that i can code css/html/php/etc.

    I would say post it on a freelance website. If you find someone willing to do regular work you might find they charge more, unless they would cut you a deal because of repeat work. But on the freelance website (I like elance) people make bids so you can often get someone willing to do it on the cheap, just check out their previous work first.

    Question though, you seem to know how the procedure worked and the right terms so I would assume you could at least easily find out how to do it yourself if you don't know already?

    I'm hoping to soon do some proper freelance web dev, I'm just building up a portfolio at the moment, can't expect anyone to take me, a 19 year old, seriously without one!

    There's a lot of freelance websites and companies how offer this kind of services. Outsourcing is a business that trust is the first requirement. This business has it pros and cons, you just need to find the right company, ask for samples and client
    references so you can decide.

    I would suggest to find a staff from a staff leasing company, because they have supervisors who manage and check their staff's work. If you could provide your contact details I'll forward you into the right path. Goodluck!

    Simply hire someone, try them out on a 1 hour or so job. It's the only real way to evaluate someone.
