I got Hacked --need to hire a fixer

Hey all,
A couple of weeks ago I was hacked by "killerMind".

I'm not a programmer at all so I did what I could to get the sites back up.
It seems there are still problems with the site.
My Page Rank dropped from 3 to 1 and my rankings are in the toilette.

It seems I need a real programer to get in there and clean up any hidden files, find and block the IP this came from, etc.

Being so ignorant, I don't really even know what I don't now.
Anyone on this board have any experience with this and looking for a side job?

.

Thanks!

    hi Kpick
sorry to hear about your site getting hacked I hve had 4 of my sites hacked over the last 2 weeks first thing apart from going to my host who done a restore brought the sites back to me .But they showed me various files which had been not secured properly and allowed access to the hackers
I checked out fiverr.com and theres a cuople of really good gigs one guy fixes your loopholes and provides you a back up copy of your site great gig suggest you check them out .its a lot less expensive than getting a real programmer (but also check out the progrmmers section) of fiverr.com
    hope this helps
    regards and good luck

Peter, while I realize that your intentions are nothing but good I would be a bit hesitant to follow your advice. Not trying to be rude or mean, just cautious.

A "5-dollar fix" may be attractive at first but how much individual attention can you really expect to get for that price? And what guarantee do you have that the person 'fixing" the site isn't actually planting a "backdoor" of their own?

Kpick if you do decide to go that route make sure to get someone who has been personally recommended to you, by a close friend or a trusted associate. Make sure you have a valid backup (it sounds like you already do) and give the technician access by creating a temporary account that you can remove after the work is completed.

It may take a while to find a good tech resource, but in the end you'll benefit from having a reliable individual that you can count on to keep your site in good working order.

I'm sorry to hear you were hacked, unfortunately it's a real concern on any site on the public Internet. I wish you the best in resolving the problem.

      Bill
