Looking For a Reliable VPS Hosting

I am looking for a reliable VPS hosting. I am currently using Hostgator.com but it seems that their VPS hosting isn't very good. Recently, I have been having problems when updating my sites. I keep getting the "Internal Server Error" so I am thinking of switching.

Any good recommendations?

I am looking for one with good support and can match the lvl 3 VPS hosting but at a cheaper rate.

    Are you looking for a managed or unmanaged vps?

    These guys offer incredible good support and their servers are way faster than all that crap you get from big hosters (like hostgator, godaddy or w/e):

    However, I think that they dont offer managed vps. But you could ask them for managed ones, if you dont want to setup the server all by yourself.

    Oh and btw. you shouldnt just look at the hardware specs when choosing a server. So many times you dont get what you are paying for and you can hardly verify if you are getting what you paid for. For instance, my guess is that webangel´s smallest server is still faster than hostgators level3+ servers (at least thats my experience).

    Sounds like perhaps you have outgrown the VPS if you receiving "Internal Server Error". Have you contacted your host about this issue or about upgrading?

    You could also consider a managed dedicated server if are you are already on the top level VPS.

    We have dedicated and VPS servers at Pagematic. We upgraded the VPS with more memory. The support is so good that we have stayed with them longer than any other host.     Hostgator told me I should upgrade my server. But I can't beleive why should I since I have only a handful of mini sites with little traffic.

    I do have a few article directories which auto update itself so I suspect it's because of that. Will be backing up the database an remove them from my hard disk and see what happens.

      DEaFeYe is right. Linode is the best value in VPS that I have ever seen / used.

      The only downside to linode is that if you're not comfortable with the command line, it can be a little daunting. Personally, I find it refreshing not to be burdened by all that extra software and guis that get in my way (cpanel, webmin, et al). Install only the software you want and get the best performance possible.

    I am with Linode and also tried SliceHost for a year.
    Both of the hostings are unmanaged so they are pretty affordable ~ $25-$30 USD/month

    I have two VPS's with them and I've never had a problem.... Their support is fantastic if you require help configuring anything etc...

    hostgator seemed to be expensive for their VPS. I need to upgrade to VPS checking out the options. I heard https://www.liquidweb.com/cart/conte...S/Plan2Windows are good, there are cheaper options like http://www.host1plus.com/vps-hosting/ and http://myhosting.com/developer-vps/. Still shopping around.

    HioxIndia is pretty good. I have my VPS hosting with them and have never come up with any issues so far. Their technical assistance seems to be good comparing other providers. You can afford the hosting package at a minimal cost.
    This service providers might bring out a solution for your requirements...

    If you are looking for managed Linux vps, then WiredTree is the best. I am using their vps (since August 2009) and very satisfied. Their support is very fast and friendly. I don't know how they do it, but many of my tickets were answered and solved within minutes. Sometime I thought they were running competition between support staffs.

        That doesn't seem to be correct. I was curious about it so I looked around their site and found no mention of VPS hosting. I also opened up a chat session and here's what they told me:
