Making a Post the home page?

I have a client that wants to make a particular post their home page and also have the static page name, tag menu, and post have the same name

They are using word press to power their site. I have had a look and the only way I can see to achieve this is to create a new page of the post they want to be the home page and then go through the normal procedure of creating a static page through

Settings - Reading - Static Page- Choose Page

Or is there a way to make a particular post the home page

Thanks in advance if you can help me out warriors

It really depends on how the blog is setup, the theme and what features of the post you're looking for on the front page - Recreating the post as a static page and changing the Reading settings may be one option, or another may perhaps be to sticky the post and change the number of post displayed, so that only the post you require appears on the home page?
    Good luck!

You need to set custom post type and call them directly from the home page template.

Seriously you need some PHP skills but with google you can do easily.

Check this out : codex custom post type
