Corruption of php snippets by Kompozer

Hello everyone,

Hope you can help.

I use Rapid Action Profits and it is a devillishly good piece of software... BUT...

It uses php snippets to function and whenever I edit html pages in my editor (Kompozer) it always corrupts those snippets when I save the changes...

Any ideas why this may be happening? Or if there is a better editor to use?

Hi Phil,

The problem is many editors save special formating characters with the text. When PHP tries to read the file it runs into those characters and errors out. The best way to avoid this is to copy the php code you changed and paste into note pad or a similar editor and use "All Files" under save as type. Or choose ascii text to save.

I suspect you're pasting these PHP snippets in WYSIWYG mode.

  Thanks for the help guys, perhaps I didn't explain it very well...
  
  I'm not actually intentionally editing any snippets, just making adjustments to the html page, using the WYSIWYG editor.
  
  "How do I isolate the snippets so they don't get touched", is the question I guess I should have asked :-)
  
  To give you a precise explanation of what's happening, it's changing <?= into >/= on my page headings when I save. Also, the ?> at the end of the snippets also gets changed to ?< upon saving.

Make sure the "Retain original source formatting" setting in the Kompozer settings (preferences) is checked. Otherwise, I suggest using a plain text editor.

  Thanks dude, I checked the settings, but they were already set like that...
