WinSCP trojan or virus?

Hi just installed Mcafee antivirus to a laptop of mine and it told me that Winscp was spyware,well is not that I dont trust Mcafee but give me a freaking break because Ive been using it for years and really without it my work wouldve been so hard ,and other antivirus products like AVG never count it as virus.

In my opinion is ridiculous to take Winscp as virus but would like to know what you think,to me is safe please tell me what is it for you

WinSCP probably isn't being regarded as a virus. You said McAfee said it was spyware. Are you sure it didn't call it AdWare, because that the idea I got when I read this page ADW_OPENCANDY | Low Risk | Trend Micro Threat Encyclopedia

and this page OpenCandy :: WinSCP

If you're only using WinSCP for FTP or sFTP transfers, you could use Filezilla instead and it won't have any AdWare distributed with it.
