Are You Just Asking ?s Or Actually Testing Things?
- SEO |
It's been a while since I've been here..... but gotta say, it's fun to be back. However, the more I read the ?s stated here, the more I find that most people are too "stuck".
What do I mean? Everyone's asking ?s and getting other people's answers for it. Don't get me wrong--there are some thing that's really beneficial to do. But to get stuck on things like which tool to use, what kind of backlinking is effective these days.... is a waste of time!
I used to be the same way, reading all the questions and answers and getting extremely overwhelmed. But it's all simple now: first, determine if you have a budget. If you don't, then you're gonna need to spend a fair time building backlinks yourself (that costs time).
There's a learning process here and the beauty of it all is, with Google's tons of ranking factors and every site being unique, the results can appear differently.
Meaning, just because one strategy didn't work on someone's site does NOT mean it won't work on yours! Of course, be smarter than spamming your own site to death (though sometimes, it has its place!)
So, if you don't have money, be smart! Partner up with someone, trade your services! If you have a tool and someone else has another one you need, help each other out.
If you have a budget, start using, experimenting, and LEARNING.
Go forth and DO!
PS And maybe all of this motivation is coming from the fact that I attended Mario Brown's event this past weekend, right here in San Diego. Do, take imperfect action, record results, rinse and repeat, folks! I've been doing it since summer and seeing very good results!
