Can't write unique content

Hi,

I am creating some landing pages and it doesn't matter how many times I try - I can't write unique content, my pages get indexed but don't show up in the search resutls?

The content I am writing is very good, including images, including keywords in permalink etc. It's just not working.

    Unique content alone does not = Google SERPs.

    What did you expect?

    Write a unique article about "Best Online Shops" or something and because it's unique Google would put you on page 1 for a difficult SERP. Why would your article rank above millions of other unique webpages targeting the same SERPs?

    Are you working on backlinks?

    I do like how people post their content is very good or SEO'd when they clearly don't understand basic SEO :-)

    When I read this sort of stuff I hear:

    I'm really good at math, I can count to 5.

    Don't assume you are doing anything right if you don't understand the subject.

    Just writing content (no matter how good or bad) doesn't mean it deserves to be ranked.

      The target phrase I am looking to rank for is pretty dead - there are other competitors yes, but they have low domain authory and like 5 links.

      I'm just surprised that it isn't appearing - I have created location based landing pages before, and they are ranked 5th for that location - without any links.

        Domain Authority (if you are talking about the Moz metric) is not always accurate, and really does not come into play if it is an internal page that is ranking. Also 5 links? Says who? There might be 500.

    Articles alone do not rank pages!

    I have no idea why this forum is so infatuated with articles. If your a writer, fine, write articles but the article itself isn't ranking a page. It's text & links that rank pages, but text can be anything including image alt-text, <h> tags, image captions, etc...

    OP didn't mention anything about links, that's most likely the problem (no decent links).

      There is another element in that general vain that I use (abuse) with quite a bit of success. I wonder if you left it out on purpose.... :p

    Hi,

    To keep this short and to the point...Google has over 200 rankings factors so unique content is NOT only responsible for your rankings. If I were you...I would go online a search what ranking factors Google has listed. Many are a secret but some you can get a good reference on like on-page factors, backlinks through relevance, high quality content etc. I would start from there so you have a better idea of the factors involved.

    Backlinks are what you need so your site can rank well. Even if you create the best content in the world, you'd still need backlinks to rank well with it.

    Unique contents and many backlinks are required for good ranking in search engines.

    Are you trying to get ranked only with content? I think it is not so easy get ranked only with content. You should focus on other SEO options. Try to create high quality backlink to get rank in short time.
