Need SEO Tips for a Movie Website

Forget SEO. Unless you have a big budget, you are not going to beat out the big sites in that kind of niche, not to mention the "official" sites movie studios put out for their movies.

Social media would be a much more logical solution to generate traffic.

This. Social media is your route. If your streaming is of dubious nature, look to put it in front of the Reddit, Tumblr and 4chan crowd.

Also, you might not know this but the spanish speaking market look for original versions to practice their understanding. You might want to reach out to that market.

Places like Pubfilm do have an audience among the spanish speaking market. Just so you know.

Hey Jimmy,

Like MikeFriedman, typical SEO would be useless in this kind of niche because of the official movie sites, production companies and the big players in the streaming (legal or illegal...).
Social Media (FB, Twitter, Reddit, Youtube....) are the minimums to gain some linkage and ''real estate'' out there.

By experience of talking with people in the business, patience, perseverance, creativity and curiosity will help you learn how to gain and maintain your traffic.

But remember to prioritize links that STICK

It is true that you can't outrank those big movie websites that are already established in the search results but it is not guaranteed that they have all the advantage because users are always canvassing for the best movie site they seen so therefore search results is not the basis because there are lots of mediums to consider in selecting the best movie site that will satisfied their needs. Try to study your audience behavior in active community sites like Reddit and Forum sites then look for the related thread for your movie websites. In this analysis you will see on how your targeted viewers interact concerning their kind of movie websites that will satisfy their needs.

It would be extremely difficult for you to rank considering the number of already established websites that have good domain authority. However, you can make use of social media extensively (lay stress on Facebook and Pinterest) for promoting your website.
Try to create interesting PPT/Digital magazines and submit them to high quality sites like Issuu, Scribd etc.

If you have some narrow niche I think that would be useful to try to push on it. In this case you will be able to have that occupied by you. If you do not have basic knowledge in SEO I think that the best way for you would be only purchasing SEO service.

I think social media platform can play a vital role for movie related site for promotion but you can also use SEO for your marketing as well create content as per your flavor and just categorize your website like action, drama, thrill, comedy suspense etc.

Prime focus of yours should be on visitors engagement and high CTR. Even if you struggle a lot in making the web page or website come first on the page, first rank. And the CTR on the same is quite low, it's very genuine that the ranking is going to be degraded afterwards. So think from an overall perspective and work for SEO significantly so as to gain the essence.

It is possible to create a website at low cost but difficult to rank on first page of Google.
Google rank a website based on different factors such as:
1. Page Title
2. External link pointing to your website
3. Target keywords within great content
4. Internal linking
5. Build the link with the right way

It is such a general topic that I cannot explain everything about it in just single comment. So here is one SEO tip for you to use for your Movie blog.

Always give relevant name to your images. For example don't name the images in your blogposts like 32323241aasd.jpg or aabs3r34.jpg. Instead give them a reasonable name, such as lion-heart.jpg , leonardo-decaprio.jpeg etc.

This tip will give you an edge over your competitors.
