One of my client ask me question that I don't really know what to answer. He has a website which is 1year old, and that has a good ranking for the keyword in the domain name. Let's call it domaine 1.

He also has a domain name, which has never been used before and that is the exact match of a related keyword . Let's call it domain 2.

He asked me if I can do an efficient redirection.

Does a 301 redirect from the domaine 2 to the domain 1 will get him the ranking on both keywords? Or does doing a 301 redirect will hurt is ranking?

Thanks for your help!

It would be useless to redirect the domain. You don't get any advantage through a 301 redirect based on the domain name.

Ok, I understand That authority and relevance is what might get the result in that case.

What if I set it up as a blog with good and relevant content and I do some good and related links from my PBN collection, and once the links are indexed and the site get a good authority. I redirect it to the other domain.

        Will that works?

I just want to try to find a good solution for him so it is a win win for both of us.

Thanks a lot for the help

That should work. But, seriously, you should stop taking on SEO clients if you can't answer a question whose answer is so simple and obvious.
