I had a one page HTML website ranking at number one in Google CH with no backlinks as the competition was virtually zero and still is for the keyword. It was ranking for many months making around $600 a month then I sold it. Now, 2 years on the owner has abandoned the domain so I have registered the domain again.

Now then as it happens I have kept the text which was translated into German, so since it is no longer indexed in Google CH could I add the same content as it was ranking with originally or does Google have a memory and remember the content the site had?

I say just put the site back up as it was and don't worry about it. I don't think you have to worry about much here in this situation.

Just put it back up like what it was. Nothing really vital on that part.

I would just improve it further to better fit with today's standards of SEO.

And also check what he did to deindex it. It might not be worth your time if he did something bad with it.

    Good luck!

Yes, you can put it back and optimized it to be able to rank it again in Google. Just maintain and improve the site.

There's nothing to worry about with regard to reusing the same content but something to worry about as regards the domain name you re-registered. Find out why he let the domain expire. If it's because of a penalty, you should register another domain name.
