Can anyone offer up any methods or processes for finding popular/shared/linked to content within a certain niche?

Any known articles, threads, blog posts, etc related to this would be helpful to someone (me) stuck implementing an effective content marketing campaign.

I want to get the most out of any content I decided to create or pay to have created.

One of my favourite tools for this is BuzzSumo: Find the Most Shared Content and Key Influencers.

Type in your keyword, or a domain and it will show you the most shared content.
