Content Orgainization For Maximum SEO

Hello All.

I am building my website and am looking for guidance on how I should organize my content for maximum SEO ROI.

BKGD:
Using WP
Website will have pages and posts
Website topic has 3 main key words that describe it (3 tenses of the same word)

I have done keyword research and identified the long tail keywords I want to target. Should I use categories that have my main keywords or categories that describe the overview of the category

Example of what I mean:

www.url.com/main-keyword/longtail-keyword (which may duplicate keywords)

or

www.url.com/category-that-describes-overview/long-tail-keyword

Also, should I leave the post category as "category" or use my main keyword?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Keep categories short if you're going to have them in the URL. It doesn't really matter what you name it just make sure it makes sense to people visiting the URL.

I am not sure if you understand how huge SEO field is...
You need to do Onsite SEO, Offsite, backlinks and quality content...
And that's too huge to write it here...
(my thread was deleted already on that subject... someone reported it as an article marketing...)

If you want to place well on Google, Yahoo, and Bing, simply name the categories in a short, natural fashion.

Google especially, will penalize your website if your categories appear as if they are titled with keywords just to rank for those keywords!

If your website is going to contain more than 50 articles, then leaving the category in the URL makes sense. Remember, these days, it's all about providing value for the visitor. The search engines' algorithms can sense that, most of the time.
