How to make PBNs related to your niche ?

Hey everyone,

I'm building a PBN (Private Blog Network) in the "Internet Advertising" Niche.
Right now, I have 1 "money site" and 3 "link network" sites out which, 2 are related to my niche but the 3rd one is related to a funny jokes site.

All 3 PBNs have good metrics i.e Good trust flow, high DA, high PR etc but the problem is the relevance of the PBN's. As you may know, it's not always possible to grab a PBN on auction which is good metrics-wise and is also related to your niche.

In my experience, you can either find a related site with not-so-good metrics or sites with great metrics but not related to your niche. You've to be VERY lucky to find a site which has both properties i.e relevant as well as good metrics.

Now many people say that a site does NOT have to be relevant to be powerful. You can simply grab a site that has Good metrics and then add some content and link back to your money site and that's it. While others say you should get a relevant site with good metrics for your PBN's. There are also many people who say that you can grab a site which is not relevant and then do some "additional work" such as building backlinks from relevant sites and make it relevant to your niche.

It seems too much confusion about deciding what's the best option. So my questions here:

1.) Does a PBN has to be relevant to your niche or it does not matter ?

2.) What to do if you can't find a PBN which is related to your niche ?

3.) How to re-purpose a PBN to fit in your niche i.e How to make a PBN relevant to your niche ?

4.) What about the content of PBNs that are NOT related to your niche ?

for example, like I said my "money site" is in the advertising niche and one of my link network sites is in the "Entertainment" niche, it used to be all about funny jokes and humors in the past according to archive.org.

Now the question here, what kind of content should I add on a site like this ? Should I add content about funny jokes and humors and link back to my advertising site or should I still add content related to advertising even though it was a jokes site and has backlinks coming from the Jokes site ?

I would love if someone expert who has PBN's to come here and shed a light on this problem.

I will highly appreciate it & thanks for reading.

Usman.

      1) The domains you buy do not have to be relevant to your niche when you buy them. The network sites you create should be relevant though. In other words, if your niche is toothpaste, and you buy a site that was about balloons, do not recreate a site about balloons and then link to your toothpaste site. Make the new network site about toothpaste or dental hygiene, etc.

      2) Not a big deal.

      3) Mostly you do that through site structure and creating a good silo page to link off of. You can also build some relevant links if you want to. If you do it right, you are laundering the linkjuice and making it relevant through your internal links.

      4) I have no idea what you mean.

You already answered my 4th question in your 1st answer
That was my main question, how to make it relevant.

        Thank you so much.

Here are my personal opinion answers...

    1) Your PBN should definitely be relevant to your money site. It's NOT a good idea to go linking funny image websites to internet marketing websites. ALWAYS keep it relevant.

    2) There are lots of methods you can use for finding relevant domains to buy and build with some content. Expired domains, domain auctions, individual sellers on forums and through websites, scraping domains with Scrapebox and checking for availability..etc. Contact me if you need help with this kind of thing.

    3) If the domain was previously used for something not related to your niche it might not really be worth messing with. Otherwise, you may want to use the Google disavow tool to remove some of the old links which are coming from irrelevant sites.

    4) If it's not related to your money site niche then don't link to it, just like I mentioned in #1. If the site was previously a funny image website then try to keep it that way. If you don't have a money site for it then use it to exchange links with someone else who has a funny image website along with an internet marketing website so you can do a 3-way link exchange.

That's all well and good and it is great when you do find a relevant site, but if someone looks only for sites that used to be relevant to their niche, they will have a tough time finding good domains. In some niches, they will never almost never find any.

You really do not have to worry about what the domains were used for before (other than something that is a heavily spammed niche like viagra, payday loans, etc.). If that was an issue, I would have no online business today.
