SEO without content marketing?

Hello,

I handle around 7-8 dutch websites for SEO which do not have a blog setup in their website. Since no new contents are being generated, I just do local Belgium listing, article submission in articlebase.com & storify.com (content in English & the dutch keywords in brackets), blog commenting in English websites.

Since the websites are in Dutch, it is needed to promote the websites in Dutch language rather than English. However, the clients are not ready to install blogs in their websites.

The link building that I carry out as mentioned above give no-follow backlinks. And no-follow backlinks have 0 value.

In such case, what is the best way to increase the keyword rankings of the websites?

Kindly guide. Thanks in advance!

OP, sounds like you might want to create your very own private websites network.

Create a bunch of sites in Dutch, paid or free, send them some links, send links from them to the site you want to rank.

Contact people in related industries and convince them to link to your site. It's best if you can convince them to do it from their home page, of course, but links from other pages will help... as long as they do not add the nofollow tag.

    That is soooooo not true.
I have the same issue, i'm Dutch myself and handle multiple Dutch websites. I did experience that the real article submission is more proficient for websites that are focused on the english language and have a multi-national visitor profile. I personally didn't really notice a difference with or without submitting articles to those (mostly USA-cofused) websites.

If you have a difference experience, let me know! Im very curious haha.

As for optimising, get your grey hat on! Dip yourself in the hot-tub of backlink manipulation/take-over's and such. Analyze your competitors on on-page as backlink, and see where you can play with.

So glad to get a reply from a Dutch person

Yes, the article submission is not of any help as it targets English speaking audience. So, under the circumstances that I have, what is the best way to increase the keyword rankings? Please advise

I'm pretty sure it's not allowed. And in any case please don't, it's not polite. There's a perfectly good PM function on this site, so it's not even necessary to post in languages that very few understand.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

          What's your excuse?

You can use social bookmarking and blog commenting for your websites. I think it is most useful for keyword ranking.

  • You should focus on social media marketing to get targeted customers. Also you can do guest blogging on other blogs in order to get backlinks for your site.

I feel like content is more effectively employed as a mid-funnel focus. Your content should be primarily responsible for converting traffic into customers once they become aware of your brand through top-of-the funnel strategies like SEO. Counting on content to drive your SEO is insane in my opinion. It comes as no surprise of course that content marketing is the most difficult online channel to make successful in terms of difficulty of implementation. Especially when it's being sold to people as a silver bullet that will rank your site, convert traffic, evangelize loyal customers, and of course do all these things safely and without the investment being that of something like adwords.
You need quality content to make traffic convert into paying customers, you do not need to rely on content to be an end-all solution to your marketing activities.

SEO without content marketing cannot be as beneficial as SEO with content marketing. It is also not desirable. Some other ways to promote your business would be to focus on social media marketing that helps improve the brand reputation of your website and thereby increase the traffic towards your website. Guest blogging is yet another way in which you could improve SEO for your website and get some useful backlinks. However content is not all that you require for marketing purposes, but definitely it plays a vital role in converting the prospective customers to loyal customers. Blog commenting is also another way to improve traffic towards your website instead of doing content marketing on your own website.

I would have to agree that content marketing can be demanding at times especially for small businesses who do not really have a team of writers. You can result to internal linking with your existing content for keyword ranking or, if you're looking at website traffic, social media and blog commenting.
