Hi,

i have a website that ranks on #4 and #5 for two different keywords. Here are two screenshots from Market Samurai's SEO Competition:

#4 in SERP

#5 in SERP

Actually I am not shure what I can do to push my rankings. I think backlink generation will not take an effect, because the sites above mine also do not have backlinks pointing to that specific page.

All page above mine are pages like amazon, ebay or product search engines.

Maybe you have some hints for me!?

That's completely impossible the with the information you provided, all people will be able to do is provide general advice.

So uh? Build high quality links?

Agreed. This also depends on the keyword. Is this a ecom term? If so then you might have a pretty hard time taking over the top spots from actual ecom sites.

One thing that I really have been stressing lately is taking a look at what the competition is doing vs. your strategy. Does it make sense? You can't be that site with 1000's of links when the top positions barely have any. With that being said, the jump from say 19th to 9th is quite a bit different than from 5th to 3rd. Are you going to get ROI from the extra work that will come from taking over that top spot or are you better off branching out and targeting more terms?

Hard to give advice without knowing the whole story.

You underestimate the power of internal links on domains with known authority link profiles.

Ok, thank you for your responses!

So what specific information do you need to know to give a goog advice? The ranking keywords are single terms like "toaster" or "fridge" and my website gives information about that keywords with some affiliate links. Actually the whole site is generating ~800€ per month, just with these two keywords in top ten of SERP.

Feel free to ask what kind of specific information you need!

      Thanks

What you need is to study the links of the top competitor whose place you want to take.

Where are the links coming from? (type of site, quality of site, quality of page, how many outgoing links on that page, that kind of thing)
        How many?
        What anchor text?
Market samurai doesn't give you that info; something like majestic seo or ahrefs do.

Then, you determine if you can match and if it's worth your while.

  • Google give high authority to those websites that have best information according to search query, relevant, natural backlinks and quality traffic. If you wan to beat like amazon and ebay both are most popular sites and having thousands of daily visitors.

I suggest to you that build relevant backlinks for your and accrue more and more traffic from eminence social media sites that will help to improve the website rank as well as business visibility.

You need to create something really awesome in order to attract enough attention and improve your positioning. Good optimization simply won't cut it against websites such as Amazon and E-Bay.

It's really hard to answer this question. But backlinks will help you for sure. That's the point, that your competitiors have more and better backlinks. (DA and PA)
