URL is king. Why wouldn't you do any social though? at least do paid ads.

I've done this before on a few keywords that total in about 5,000 searches a month, loads of competition, but I managed to get it #1 for multiple keywords with content alone. Well, actually I had several social media networks linked which grew over time. But no backlinks built from me otherwise, not a single one. Not even organic backlinks, I checked a few days ago with a link checker, no site links to my blog, but still, it is ranked #1 on page one.

That's about it, I had a few YouTube videos for starting traffic, blogged about 3 times a month, and I also incentivized my traffic to share the blog posts. Dunno the weight of that but many posts have hundreds of shares on sites like Facebook, Google + and Pinterest.

I don't really remember exactly but I think it took me about a year to get the #1 rank. I was on the first page of Google in about 2 or 3 months after starting the blog.

Now, I'm sure you can do better if you blogged more recently, and if you can get your hands on a few good backlinks.

My success with the site basically came without me ever planning for it, I only made the blog for so the YouTube traffic had somewhere to land, but over time I started working more on it and well.. Yeah content can be really king.

Too many factors to consider.

I'm certain there are some very lovely trees in the forest. But until someone can point out to me where they are I will never know they exist. I will go only so far down a trail before turning back around to find a closer tree to admire.

Yeah content is king and its not enough to see traffic. you have to build backlinks to see traffic coming to your site. and do some promotions on several social media sites to attract backlinks.

when you own a website. it need much work. you don't have to sit and expect traffic.

A lot of people preach this whole "content is king" nonsense without any real understanding of what it actually means.

Content on its own is meaningless. Especially if your content marketing strategy (or lack of) is built purely upon guesswork.

I see a lot of site owners publishing fluffy content in an effort to satisfy some kind of superstitious schedule.

"I need to publish a blog post every 3 days"

Why?

I also see a lot of site owners implementing the "publish and pray" method.

They publish, they pray, and they wait.

And they wait and wait and wait.

Nothing happens so they repeat the process.

Here's the thing.

When it comes to content you've got to have a strategy.

Im going to break this down into a few quick points, because I'm busy and well, don't have time to write a 10,000 word response here in this thread.

1. Reverse engineer your competitors content. Why? Because you should be focusing your efforts on what is already working in your space. How? Use Buzzsumo.

2. Take content they've published (that has acquired links, shares and engagement) and improve upon it. Make it 10 times better.

3. Promote the hell out of it. Syndicate it across social media, within forums, groups, your email list and anywhere else people will find it valuable (don't f*cking spam)

4. Repurpose that content into other formats. For eg, take a blog post, convert it into a podcast, a video, an infographic, a slide deck. Then promote the hell out of that too.

5. Track and measure everything. None of this means anything unless you are tracking it. Use Google Analytics.

Build and refine a system that works.
Publish brilliant content (good content sucks)
Build an audience
Be different

Stop "guessing" and start working with purpose.

It is so soon to get organic traffic. Wait for some months.

Yes Content is always consider to be the king in the Search Engine Optimization of the websites.

if you really post high quality content.. then you need to promote it on social sites.. it wont take more than an hour.. and you will get genuine and organic traffic.. for google to notice it and support you accordingly you need to be regular, enticing and patience..every long term think takes time.. invest wisely and effectively..

It is really hard to say the time for decent where your competitors work continually, but mind it Organic traffic generally begins to build up after six months.

Genius idea i must say. Just build your blog without any backlinks, where is your logic people?
How do you think bots will find your blog?

Content is king, but without backlinks how do you expect anyone to find you? Surely, you have a strategy so that people can find your awesome content, right? Google is not going to magically place you on the first page unless you have some authority. You need good backlinks for authority.
