So 1 of on page optimization is Internal Links by using keywords a anchor text.

But to most layman visitor it actually look weird that there is a hyperlink in your content, so my question is , is it ok to hide that link by making it same colour as the other text as well as no underline so people will not know it is a link. Only way they know its a link is when they hover over it.

I don't see any problems on it, especially if it is a relevant link.
However if the content has a lot of hyperlink on it, then that's a different story.
On the other hand, how about putting a "Relevant Topic/Content" instead on the end of your content. It can be an optional suggestion list on the last part of your content.

Why hide the link if it's relevant? Unless you have excessive links in your content?

I agree with what the others said. If the link is relevant (it can be either a source or example), adding a link to have a reference and to justify your thoughts is not as bad as you think. A site that is full of links is suspicious. You don't need to hide an anchor text in your content if your intention is to give the reader a wider range of ideas. But always remember and consider that there are proper practice of using anchor text in your content. https://moz.com/learn/seo/anchor-text

If the link to relevant content then there should be no issue in my opinion. From User experience point of view you can open new URL in new tab so that user don't get distracted from what they are reading.

Yes, there is no need to hide the link if it is a relevant one for the users. But avoid putting too many links rather than hiding them as this can affect your Google ranking. Build quality link that is required to make user more understandable.
