I have an article and I want to submit it in multiple article directory- IS It Possible? Any content duplication issue there? OR what is the best methods to get back-links by Article submission? Thankyou

  • Hello krrahman,
Whats the necessity to post the same content on multiple website unless its not a public news which needs to reached all around.

You need to make google and other search engine algorithm happy by writing new , unique , interesting and value added article to increase the back-links. Some try using brute-force method it may work for a while but at the end it depends on human interaction with those article.

So dont be in hurry. But be good on each article. Taj Mahal is not built overnight.

Always try to build unique and fresh articles. Otherwise you can use the same but it is better to rewrite/rephrase before submission.

    Hello there,

I see your point in trying to publish the same article/s you've written in different sites. Using the same article for different sites might save you a lot of effort and time, but I do not recommend you do this. Google keeps a keen eye on duplicate content, and once you have an article in a website that is present in another websites, chances are your ranking will go down, or worse, your content will be absent in the search results.

What you can do is to tweak a bit of the article's contents to make it an original one again. Doing this might require time, but at least it does you good.

    Hope this helps.

However, according to Google 20 to 25% of content in the web are duplicate in which also ranking high so its not true that your ranking will go down or it will de-index in the search results.

Yes! you can by updating it maybe after some hour when your trade has gone down. but if the site does not permit to do so. you do not have to. try and search for new content may be on google.

I wouldn't recommend it. The negative outweighs the time you will be spending to just write a new article.

You can try spinning the article too but I don't recommend that either because usually it turns out to be bad quality.

Yes, you are correct that submitting articles to other sites is a great way to build links back to your site. HOWEVER, those are strategies and tactics people used probably 3 years ago. Google see that people are doing that instead of building quality/natural links, they rolled out Penguin and Panda to prevent people from doing that. By doing so, you are creating something called Duplicate content and that will either harm your website ranking or your website may not show up in the search results because the website where you submitted the article has better ranking than you. Therefore, they are showing the other website instead.

yes, if you post the same article to multiple site google will consider it duplicate. It's better to write a new article or you can do 60%-75% tweaking to your content(if you want). But make sure you've checked the grammar and plagiarism.

Using the same article is not a problem. Google could care less if the same article is appearing on 500 sites.

The real issue is that you are submitting the article to article directories. Article directories are nothing but sewer trash.

Yes you can post same article on several content/article publishing websites but as a matter of fact, article submission has become kind of obsolete and it does not prove to be efficient anymore.

Article backlinks dont work in 2016. You can use them as tier 2 links at most but for tier 1, i would stay way way far from them.

You can submit in as many website you want but for seo proposes will not work because google will considerate duplicate content and just index the first one. Also it can penalize you.
You can share the published article at various social media website like - Pinterest, Facebook, Linkedin, Scoop.it, Stumbleupon.

  • In my opinion (I don't know whether its true or not) google will just de-index duplicate articles.
Instead of just republishing the articles to different sites, might as well try to modify the tense and language of the content so that it seems somewhat different and try not to republish the same article to more than 3-5max. popular sites.

Submitting articles to article directories is not generally a good idea. It worked 10 years ago, to get backlinks, but that won't do you much good in 2016, or you might even lose ranking from creating artificial backlinks that way.

Much better would be to write high quality articles as guest-posts for Blogs and sites on relevant subjects. Someone estimated that one link from a Guest-post might be worth around 100,000 links from article-directories, so which would you rather do? And increase in ranking is not even the best benefit from guest-posting . . . even better is the direct traffic you'll get from the article, which is likely to convert much better than search-engine traffic.

Why not do what works ??

I wouldn't bother submitting it to 1 directory - complete waste of time. Much better ways to build links in 2016 that actually make a positive impact.

Try to re-purpose your article. For example you can make an infographic out of your original article. Then you can make a Google+ submission. Then you can make a video slideshow out of this infographic and submit it to YouTube. Then you can create a poll or a survey at the end of your article and convert the answers you get into a new post on your website.

Article submission back-links are low quality back-links and will DECREASE your traffic.

If you are going to use articles for SEO, why not do something that will give you positive rather than negative results? . . . do guest-posting on relevant blogs.

Not only is guest-posting positive for SEO, even many years ago when article-submission to multiple article-directories did work, one link from guest-posting was estimated to be worth on average, about 100,000 directory-links, so calculate which would have given you better results for your time!

The only time submitting an article to ONE (or maybe 2) article-directories, is if you are doing article-syndication, which is similar to guest-posting other than you write the article on your own site first, then get it on other relevant blogs. AFTER you've got it on other blogs, then submit the article on EZA, which might get it on other relevant blogs that you can then write for.

So which are you going to choose? Doing what was a waste of time even years ago when it did work (and it definitely doesn't work now), or do what WORKS?

Don't take my word for it . . . test this for yourself. Make sure you test it on a site that you don't ever want to use again, because Google remembers! Write some articles, wait until you are getting consistent traffic, then get your articles submitted by using a Fiverr service . . . I just looked there for a few seconds and found one that will submit your article to 55.000 directories. Do that and you'll find out very quickly if it gives you more, or less traffic.

I'll give you a similar example from my own experience . . . following the advice of an "expert" some years ago, when I'd bought a course, I did what he said and used Fiverr to do 400 RSS submissions of my site (I'd already spent weeks building traffic), and the result was immediate and obvious . . . I LOST 75% of the traffic that I'd worked so hard building, and it never recovered, even a few years later. Other people on the same private forum got the same results.

But again, don't take my word for it . . . if you do this yourself, you'll really learn . . . believing someone else is not as "real" to you. But DO take my advice and only test these things on a site you don't want to use again (or create a site you don't want to keep on a free content website, like WordPress.com).

  • Absolutely you can BUT it must be avoided at all costs, there is more than a fair chance that the rankings will be negatively affected. If your article is original and unique it will definitely get indexed by the google search engine given.
Just try to get it published on 2-3 most popular sites according to the article category. Also, avoid article directories, they may get you the link juice but not the quality links which are critical.

I've done it before but I don't do it anymore because I didn't feel any changes.
Plus, this type of technique are most likely to be considered by Google as link scheme.
So, it really don't help at all, forget about it. If you want focus on blogging instead and use your articles in other way like making a video out of it, or a document if possible.

Yes, you can. Where you publish/submit depends on what your marketing strategy is.

Google will only give your credit for one publication though. Are you writing for the benefit of your readers, or Google?

Do you even understand what an article directory is for?

I thought as long as it is a different URL then it should be safe? like creating a url then setting a 301 redirect to the original url?

The whole issue with posting the same content on multiple sites is that Google cannot determine which one is the original. By creating new urls for every site you want to post your content to and then creating a 301 redirect to the actual page on your site, this eliminates the whole "where did it come from" confusion.

Yes, you can post same article in more than one article submission sites, unless you are posting an informative or generalized content. In other words, it is safe to submit content like NEWS, press release, information about an event taking place or a promotional content with some call-to-action lines in the bottom of the post.
For example, you provide a car rental service in Sydney, and you have an article with a title (say) Hire the best car rental service in Sydney which describes why your car rental service is the best in Sydney and some call-to-action lines with a toll-free number or so. You can post it to multiple article submission sites.
But if you are sharing an article on a general topic like Benefits of online shopping, which includes general information & tips, you should not submit it on multiple article submission sites.
If you are submitting same article on multiple sites, make out some time to change the title and intro portion of the article.

Don't post same article content on different websites. Do some changes and rewrite the article while posing on the different websites. If you post the same article in many website, Google would consider as duplicate content and your ranking got affect in the search result.

But it would help to get backlinks from the different websites. But most of the article submission websites would not allowed the content which is already published on the other websites.

too bad... Its duplication... perhaps you may wanted to spun the content to its highest level using nested spinning. But i didnt see the point of submitting one content on different article directories, and most article directories have been heavily penalized by google. Maybe you dont want to position your backlink from this type of sources..
