Why content advertising sucks

I was watching an NFL game on one of the blogspots (tons of them whenever a game comes out) and was reading the chat when i saw the admin say "please click one of these ads to support our site" . Moments later, a ton of people writes back "done". There were 1200 people watching this on this website alone so that is a TON of wasted money.

This is why you have to use the placement reports in your adwords account for the content network. I find in most cases blogspot as a domain does not do well, so the best thing to do is to exclude it for showing your ads.

It is too general a statement to say the content network sucks. It can be very lucrative, but its a tricky beast.

In time they will also get caught doing what you described, and then will no doubt be no here saying " my adsense account was shut down and I don't know why "

That is against Google's rules and as an adsense marketer, I know it really can affect one's account, possibly a banned account soon.

Is this consider a scam or not?
I really don't know the real thing.
Maybe it's not if it doesn't involve people's credit card numbers / bank accounts. As long as they click and nothing's lost from.. I'm not really sure but I think it's a form or advertising.
