Effect on SEO of Removing Title and Tagline in WP

I just installed a new header on my site and had to delete from wordpress general settings the name (title) of my blog and tagline because the theme was automatically inserting this information onto a header that already had that info.

So will this in any way adversely effect SEO for the site?

    Check the rendered HTML of the page. As far as it remains intact (no matter WP or the theme inserts the info), there should not be any problem with SEO.

    All you have to do is look at the text version of the webpage. If you want something changed then simply edit the WP theme. It's a text file, not like it's written in stone.
