First time link building for a new SEO client - do I need separate email account for linkbuilding?

Hi,

I've got a beginner question.

Should I create a separate email for linkbuilding at forums/yellow pages, or not? If yes, on gmail or ask for one on clients domain?

The goal for this is to create forum profiles and yellow pages listings. Sometimes spam comes though and I'd hate to send more spam to the clients main email account.

(... before comments come in, yes, on site SEO is in process and audit has been done. Content is being written for guest posting and link building. Yellow pages and forum profiles are just a bit of the work, not the entire strategy here.)

I would skip creating forum profiles unless they are really high traffic forums that you plan on participating on in an honest way. If you are doing it just for the links, it is a huge waste of time, and frankly a bit spammy as far as link building is concerned.

To answer your question, yes, I would create a separate email account. For email outreach, you want to use an email account from the client's domain, not Gmail or any other service like that. For creating accounts, it doesn't really matter if it is from the client's domain or not.

Why not give him the real answer?

Skip taking clients for seo as long you're clueless....

      But, we digress, as usual.

If you don't to want disclose your personal account for link building than you may go for new account for that particular firm or website.
