Inline ad in your content & Google?

Will Google penalize you if you have an ad within your content, but don't clearly indicate that it is an ad.

I'm not talking about a word in the content that becomes a link but something that flows well with the content and yet is a paid ad (paid to the content owner.)

There is an image that shows an example. The ad (fake here) would be the line on the gray background.

I do not think besides if you can explain clearly what kind of ad are they then we could answer it more accurately.

Hi Alexis,
I believe, you will add this content on your own website. If this content will be added on your website, google will not penalize you and it is necessary the link shouldn't be spam or something irrelevant else it could effect your website status with google.
And if this content is posted on some other websites then the guidelines of those websites need to be followed i.e. whether they allow 3rd party links, or external URL's, promotional content is allowed or not etc.

  Ah, yes. Relevancy. Although I though that if we had a rel="nofollow" then relevancy was less a concern because in this case, it would be on my website, https://smsfromme.com/ to another website.
  
  A bit like this forum allows for you to have a signature with links that at times are likely irrelevant to sales and marketing as the forum talks about...
