What is a link wheel in SEO?

Link wheel is the advanced SEO strategy. The idea of the link wheel is to create a pattern of links flow from one website to another website and link that website to your main website. However, if social media sites are applied to create the link wheel, then that is referred to as social media marketing.but i do not understand this..and want to know how to create the link wheel

    Simple explanation:

    Site A > B > C > D > E > A
    or
    Site A > B > C > D (and A) > E > B (and C) > A

    I doubt it's "advanced". It's been used and practiced by many internet marketers for years, basically sites sharing link juice all in the same loop.

    Link wheel is not the best structure to go with.. however, if you look up Cornerstone Content you get an idea of internal site structure that isn't to bad overall. What you can do from this point is adapt the same structure beyond the confines of a single domain and spread it out across several domains, your social activities, and your offpage strategies.

For example, website X links to website Y which links to website Z which then links back to website X (which is supposedly the main website).

    It's just so unnatural that it is easy to spot. You don't see sites linking like this in the "wild", so there's a good chance using a link wheel will land you a penalty.

    Google looks for patterns. Don't leave any sitting around for them to find. Just build quality editorial backlinks from authority blogs in your niche.

    Guest posting, broken link building, skyscraper...these are all techniques that will stand the test of time (if done right) because they don't involve you using sites you control to manipulate the SERP.
