internal links numbers are very high (74,231 links) on google console.

Google console shows high numbers of internal links. We are an e-commerce website with thousands of pages so high number of internal links are expected. One of the main pages has 74,231 internal links and there are 20 pages with 37,000 - 39,000 links. The number of links drop down to less than 200 after that for the rest of the pages.

I know high number of internal links could be bad for rankings. I just want to know how detrimental is it? Help!

    If the links are all accessible to visitors and link to a relevant page then no problem, broken links are a problem so make sure all links are valid. There should be no penalty.

      Yes exactly. Until and unless there are no broken links, we should not worry for penalty.

    I found my answer. I think my situation is more complicated than basic internal links elematentary situation, I think Moz is better forum to answer more complicated question. From my research, I definitely have to restructure my internal links and distribute them across the site. SO FYI
