How many backlinks should I create per day?

I was just wondering how many backlinks should I create everday to get a good amount of traffic?

I have been writing one article per day and posting it on my blog, ezineartilces.com, articlesbase.com, helium, ehow, and buzzle. Is this enough?
#backlinks #create #day

That is a good start. In fact, if you do one of those a day, that's more than probably 99% of what other new marketers do.

On the other hand, if you have time, do more! If you do this manually as you are doing, there is no way you can do too many.

Along those lines, be very careful when tempted to go to some type of "automated link building system"...many will do more harm than good.

For new domains, do anywhere from 5-10/day. After a few months, you can do more (10-20/day).

first of all try to figure out which word/phrases you want to optmizi
then link your site with this anchor text
do not link only with that anchor text.
    build deep links
    wait google to find links
    enjoy google traffic

Well posting articles is not much helpful
What you should do is the articles you have posted and the one which are approved you must check those articles and do the social bookmarking of those articles.
Same pattern you can adopt for Blogs. Do the social bookmarking of your blogs. You will surely get maximum benefit.

40 links a day is a good number. There are lots of people doing that, and it works for them. If you go over 50, Google may delist your site.

If you choose a number like 40, keep doing a similar amount for a few days. Google seems to translate that as real link building, rather than link spamming.

I have 2 domains which have been delisted. You can discover this by typing site:www.mydomain into a google search. This is what you get when your site is delisted.

Your search - site:www.mysite.com - did not match any documents.

How many backlinks should I create per day?

Do as many as you can, then 1 more.

In other words, there is no limit.

Remember, your competition is not limiting.

Anyone who gives a you a limit is limiting you and is showing
          their limited knowledge.

I have no idea where this not backlinking for months came from.

In 2 months, your competition would be 2 months ahead of you.

Backlink like the people of Chicago vote: early and often.

Your backlinking is only limited by how fast you can do it.

I wrote an article last night (my first article) to try and get hte reader to an affiliate site. Today I built a bit over 150 links to it... Let's see what happens. Is this actually dangerous? couldn't I just do it to my competitors if it got sites de-indexed?

obviously google will not find my 150 links today.. or tomorrow, hopefully sometime next week. and if it was dangerous to build 150 links a day, would google know <i>when</i> the links were built? or would it be dangerous "finding" 150 links in one day. in which case even if you build 150 links in one day you have no idea when they will be found....

        Every one is different.

What links you should get, what you can get, what you are able to get.. Are all different things.

Organising your workload, so you do things that promote your site and also things that keep you interested in what you are doing, generally are key important.

Starting out we all want to do everything.. 1000 links in a day, 100 articles.. Growing your business is the same whether you do it off or on line. People seem to forget that. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Sometimes doing a bit of what you like, in relation to your business is as important, if not more than going all out to get 100 links a day, for example.. Because you find yourself getting fed up with trying to do it and ultimately giving up.

Just my opinion,.. but given with experience of having done it myself!

Sure thing, It took me about 5 days worth of work to do it (not counting the learning curve b/c now i can reproduce it) but the links were all created within about 1.5 hours (I actually created a bit over 650 links, but they were to different sites as well, ~150 that I mentioned above were to my article).

simply put I compiled a list of where to put the links (got many from a friend), then wrote a script that creates the links for me. Writing the script was a pain and took me longer than if I were to create the links myself. I'm still refining it. but basically now it can run through that list again and again and again... but it takes me like 2-3 days of work each time before I can tell my script to go.

Now I'm new to this and this was my first set of link building activities. the article was a goarticle, the keyword shows an ezinearticle as number 1 on google from 2007 w/o any backlinks. my links were from about 70 different sites. Think I should be able to outrank the ezine article???

If it works I'll be super excited and continue to work on this list/script

Ive done this multiple times ....

I ve placed over 1500 registered backlinks that show in Yahoo site explorer for multiple domains ant the same time in 120 days. They were actually placed on the sites in less than 30 days ... but it takes time for the pages to get indexed and crawled.

The tools and systems are out there for you - but the path is not free - and neither is your valuable time.

There's people doing 150 backlink drops for their sites PER HR ...

Just to throw 2c into the mix. Imagine a scenario where you have a very popular or controversial blog post, something that went viral then dropped off in popularity a few days later (maybe a revelation about Paris Hilton, which is an example of a short term trend).

That link could be shared in 100s of places or even 1000s within 24 hours and then as interest fades the linking will slow down to a trickle and then ... nada...

You could literally create 100s of links in a day and get massive link juice but the main factor is how widley those links are spread across the net and the authority (or quality) of the sites that link to your post or site.

If you have 100s of crappy links from porn, link farms and casinos then that is going to hurt you. If you have 1000s of links from high PR, authority sites in the same day, Google will love you and have your babies!

It's all relative and not just about links per day...

    All the best

    Sean

I don't know if I should answer this question but somehow I felt obligated to do it..

The ultimate rule of all, ENJOY IT!

When I start my SEO experience few months ago, I hate it. I hate on-page (content making) and off-page (link building). But as time pass by, it really gets the best out of me.

Try motivating yourself, and force that 'drive' to come out. Thats what I do.

Now, I usually post an article to my niche blog once a day at the very least. Make some internal linking.....Done! (and I do enjoy doing it)

Then I'll put some more articles on my support blogs, linking here and there...Done! (again, I enjoy doing it)

Next, I'll search on google "my niche" "powered by wordpress" and do some reading and commenting.Usually, I'll go through from the 1st to 5th page and continue it later.I really enjoy it. I imagined it as a playground for people like me, a geek. It works very well on me.

care to explain why an adult site or an online casino are crappy links? I've seen many high ranking (traffic and page rank) adult and gambling sites.

Do you have anything to back up this claim or are we playing the morality game?

..for the OP... nobody has a concrete answer to your question. some will say fewer, others will say more.

That's true, if you can get links from legitimate porn or casino sites, then go for it.

I think what Don and I meant would be 100s or 1000s of links from ONE porn site or link farm...

I personally have absolutely nothing to back up this claim though, maybe I should put a disclaimer after my posts, but a lot of the SEO knowledge going around does not have something to back them up. That's the point of the forum, jsut take what you read with a grain of salt and see what other people's opinions are. then try your own and figure it out....

I would recommend that you start with only a couple per day for a new web site. Once you're more established, you can try for 5 - 10 per day. As you build your links, go for quality over quantity.

You're much better off, even after your site is established, to focus on getting one or two quality links per day as opposed to dozens of PR0 links!

Too much speculation here. No one really knows what is too much. Remember the Google bomb. Now that will affect your site, but how many links was that in a short space of time? Who knows.

If link velocity is an issue then I might aswell spam link my competitor and move him down while I move up?

Do what your doing now and keep to it. If your site gets to number 1 doing only 5 links per day, then keep at it. When you feel the itch to add 10 links per day then do it on a test site to see what happens.

If you add too many links per day the worse that can happen is your site might be sandboxed, but that's only temporary and isn't likely to happen unless your site is extremely new.

I've added many many links in one day even to my new sites, and nothing bad happened. You have to remember Google also takes time to index each link.

Sometimes I build literally hundreds in a day gathered profile links, and some automated stuff for blog commenting etc, than I might not build any more for a week.

The thing to remember is that Google does not find all the links the second you build them, the bots will find them over days, weeks and sometimes months.

There are many different answers on this forum about the particular question. Before I say my peace I would like to say Alexa has asked a question on proof of numbers. Nobody can really answer this.

Why? Because there isn't a set number you have to go by. Has Google hinted that you shouldn't be very rapid on this. (natural link building) Yes

Has Google hinted on not using duplicate content? Yes

This is a scare tactic! It's like when your dad or mom when you were younger said not to have sex. It is bad, something might fall off.

I have clients I have taken in to find out that they have been back-linking the same article for months with many of them being indexed.

I have clients that we have pushed out hundreds of links a day because in order to catch up to their competitors this is what we need to do.

Obviously if you get some sort of software not naming names, and shoot out 10,000 back-links to forums in a day and use Link----- to drip all your links to rss feeds that day to ping the search engines then this is stupidity.

But pushing links to be competitive in your market is a must!

Example about massive links in a day. Facebook!!! Everybody uses it. These guys get thousands of links per day. Any website that uses social media puts a link to them on their website. They are not de-indexed!!!!
