Articles as website content and in article directories

I see that an absolute must to get better ranking on your website is to load it with plenty good content. I have a very basic 5 page website which i am about to start optimizing...I plan to add quite a few article pages to my size and extend it to about 20-30 pages to get googles attention...my question is:

1. The content/pages I am going to add to my site, I also want to submit to article directories to create more back links. Should I spin this content and make it differ slightly to the content I will be adding to my website in the form of webpages? or will it be fine to submit the exact same articles/content to the article directories?

2. Is it ok to submit the same article to multiple directories? or should one tweak/spin each article before sending off to a different article directory.

Thanks!

Please note that this reply is to the best of my knowledge, and there seem to be vastly differing opinions concerning this issue.

    1. Google has stated many times over that there is no 'duplicate content penalty' per se, but that sites that use a lot of duplicated content for the sole purpose of affecting search engine rankings will be penalized.

Here's the thing: Although there might not be a penalty, you would be better off by having only unique articles appearing on your website. Why? Well, simply because you will gain benefits from it as being unique content, rather than search engines simply ignoring it (even if they aren't penalizing you for it). So I would suggest spinning or rewriting the articles completely.

    2. I should confess that I am no great expert in article submissions, but it would seem like it is perfectly okay to submit the same article to multiple directories. What you are looking for in article submissions is, essentially, the back links. Therefore it is of no affect to you directly if the same article appears on 1000 directories or other websites, as long as the link remains intact.

Hope this clears things up for you a little,

    -Vish.

Thanks for that, regarding point 2 where you mention..

<What you are looking for in article submissions is, essentially, the back links. >

Ye in my case I most definitely am going for the backlinks, I am aware that there is a flip side to it and that is to create articles to obtain direct traffic from users reading and being enticed by the article and then clicking on the bio box. In this case you would be focussing on and including specific keywords in the article with hopes that google will rank the article organically and be picked up by users and result in direct traffic. However as I said in my case all I am after is the back links so it simply needd to be relevant content which is human readable and does not have to be that enticing to the reader.

      Thanks again

If you are teh site owner means if the Artical is your own which you will be suppose to be submit with Artical Directory there is no problem suppose some time we used another artical in our site post and belwo we mention Artical sourse:...... if you artical like that you could be face problem.

Is it ok to submit the same article to multiple directories?- It would be better if you do not use same artical for more site slitely change

I use 100% original content on my blog whenever possible. If there isn't a dupe content penalty now then there may be at some stage and at that point I'll have an advantage.

When I do submit an article to the databases, I will post it on my blog first until it gets indexed, which is usually within a day or two, then submit using Submit Your Article submission service. My thinking on this is that the first article indexed will be considered the original.

As someone in this thread has already stated you will get many varying views on this. My advice would be to test for yourself. The results will probably also vary according to how competitive your niche is - in regards to how well dupe content is indexed and ranked.

Mass submitting a single article is okay for traffic to your site from readers of the article but I think only the article on a site with the most authority in Google's eyes will be the originator and benefit from the ranking value.

I like that I can put links to 2 different pages on my site in EACH article I submit with anchor text I choose does more good in linking power. 10 articles equals 20 links to my site with 10 being the home page and 10 to internal pages.

You can start submitting unique articles for your 5 page site and gradually build site content too.

I read elsewhere in this forum a strategy that works well and it is:

Add a new page to the site.
Submit a fresh article to EzineArticles linking to that page and the home page.
Mass submit another unique article using an article submitter or a service like isnare.

The above approach will gradually build both SE rank plus traffic from your articles IF they are targeted at longtail keywords with lighter competition.

I add one additional step to the above and that is to social bookmark my EZA articles once they have been approved.

Are you able to deep link back to the article at Ezine? I have tried this and they reject my articles with the link to inner pages as a violation of their TOS. I am a Platnum level Author there.

        Hi Scottie,

You can link to any page on your website that you wish. I create anchor text with my targeted keywords and link back to a specific page in just about every article I submit to EzineArticles.

Perhaps there is another reason those articles were rejected.

        All The Best,

        Tony

Submitting unique articles bring the best long-term success. I don't recommend submitting your web site content to article directories. While it is easier than writing a new article, it makes no sense to dilute your own web site content that way.

I have a 28 page site that I created nearly 2 yrs ago. I submitted each article on the site to different article directories 30 days after it was origially posted on my site. 2 years later I continue to have my main keywords rank in the top 10 on Google. I don't claim that this is the right way or wrong way of doing this. I am only sharing the facts.

Website content is much more important than submitting on article directory. People like Albroz Fallah, the owner of caradvice.com consider this as waste of time if you have very less content on your website and keep submiting only to article directories.

a previous poster hit it on the head, post the original on your own site first, wait till it gets indexed, then post multiple 'wrangled' versions of it on the directories. Make them shorter than the original too, to make sure your original gets the attention it deserves.
