Hi, I'm Ajmain. My Blog is almost a year. I did never create any backlink for my blog. I just focused on quality content and keyword research. But the result isn't that good. I can hardly rank in google with a low competitive keyword. Any though on this?

You need a page where you can sell something.

1 page that people find does you a lot better than hundreds of quality posts that no one sees.

Create 1 post, then focus on getting backlinks.

    You already know that.

Focus on keywords which have low competition but have good demand in Google.

Building links alone won't help if you don't have a strategy.

As, already suggested start working on one page first. Get ranked it well. And then shift your focus.

Completely NO. Backlinks can be taken as customer reviews about your blog. If internet world is talking about you it means you have some values in the eyes of Google. If no backlinks means no one care about your site, so avoiding backlinks is not a good choice.

Hi Ajmain, one of the best ways to get rankings is to get back links. However, they need to be from high authority websites, so getting 100's of back links from low or non ranking websites is far worse than just having one good back link from a really good reputable site. It will greatly increase your blogs ranking.
However, as well as back links you also need to make sure you have keywords in your title tags, a good meta description, good content. Also SEO experts tell us the percentage of keywords that are relevant to your content needs to be between 1% to 2%.
I hope this helps. For greater details I actually did a blog on this a couple of days ago where it mentions back links and keywords in more detail. Hope it helps

No SEO expert ever said anything even remotely close to 1 to 2% of keywords need to be relevant to your content, not even at the height if keyword density craze.

A backlink from a good, reputable site is not that useful unless it comes from a page that's got some backlinks of its own.

It's kind of refreshing to find people who are following G's backlinks wishes.
Sure years ago when G. has been using backlinks as criteria to assign PRs
building backlinks race made sense but since G. realized that it created
cottage industry monster, G. decided enough is enough and in order to bring
under control that fiasco, G. decided to curb reliance on backlinks as a main
SERP source and have moved it benchmark to more reliable Algorithms.

Yes backlinks are paying some role in determination of likelihood and relations
between site's pages and content and not to determine something G. effectively
removed like a cancer from it body years ago.

ahrefs has created good video on this. There are lots of factors why you cannot reach Top, such as kw difficulty, your domain authority, how advanced at kw research you are, and if you take into account search intent and NLP, and so on.

My bet is that backlinking is still relevant. Google changes each day. what he disregards today may gain traction tomorrow. So all SEO experts are just playing the game with cards closer to their chests. So Do everything google likes and let him select what he prefers. It's my view though
