How long does it take for back links to show up?

I have had around 200 articles published for a few days now and I keep checking to see how many back links my site has. Do they need to get indexed before the links show up?

I have had an EZA article for almost a week and it still doesn't show.

Just wondering about how they show up and how long it takes.

    Search engines sees your pretty quickly, but it depends on the tool you are using to track your backlinks.

    Some of the backlink tracking tools are not very accurate, and can take two to three months to show your backlinks.

    Don't let that stop you, keep plugging away.

    Some links show up instantly, some a few weeks or months and some you'll never see.

    No they don't need to get indexed. As soon as you have the EZA URL.....you're fine. Start building links.

    BUT..........you get "credit" for the link immediately. Don't pull your hair out trying to see if "they all show up". Be sure to track your SERPS movement.

    I'm 100% sure that the EZA links are indexed instantly. That site is updated constantly, so it only makes sense. As we've all heard before, just because you can't see your link doesn't mean that Google hasn't counted it yet.

    The vast majority of your backlinks will never show up, perhaps as little as 20%. But don't be alarmed... your backlinks are still being "counted" by Google even though they are not visibly being seen in Yahoo Site Explorer (or whatever back link checker you're using).
