I picked an easy niche, posted articles, and posted to forums with a backlink in my signature. Most sites don't come that easy, but that one went slick.

#3 < 60 minutes of registering the domain.

That was my record, I still have some sites that are indexed but not ranked...

    this is a flawed question.

I'm sure I could rank #1 for 'wooblygoobleygoo' in about 24 hours. I would take me a long long time ( if ever) to rank #1 for ''viagra'

It's not a level playing field an no two keywords have the same competition or require the same amount of work to rank.

I have to agree too. It all depends on what keyword you are ranking and if you mean any type of site including micro niche adsense ones. Like most of my adsense sites get to page one and a few get to #1 straight after getting indexed. One of the factors that helps is I put the keyword in the domain.

Having said that, it really depends on the site's topic and whether it is local, national and regional. I'm marketing a political blog that is very high considering the short time it has been around, but still has a long ways to go. Take care guys

Absolutely amazing. I must be targeting the wrong key words. Actually no doubt about it. I get NO traffic from search engines. 200-300 visitors a day and not a lick of it from the search engines. I've had my blog for close to 3 months now. I only pull up my blog if I type the name directly into the search engines.

<---needs to be pointed in the right direction.
