Will DMOZ & YAH help?

I was just curious as to how much weight does being listed in the DMOZ & Yahoo Directory actually have? For example I have a highly searched keyword that no one on the first page is listed in either the DMOZ or YAH and I am the first one on the second page, #11. My website is very close statistically to theirs and don't know if I paid to be in both of them if that would put me over the other websites or not. Any ideas or thoughts?

Thank you,

Adam

It can't hurt to be listed in either or both directories especially if your competitors are not.

You might want to try a directory submission service if you haven't already to see if that gets you any bumps in rankings ... directories aren't as potent as they once were, but they can help you move up a spot or 2. Every little bit counts, right?

DMOZ is not as powerful as it used to be. Being in the paid Yahoo directory will obviously get you some preferential treatment by Yahoo.

I also think so. Getting listed in DMOZ is not very worthy now. It used to be effective! Instead you can invest your money for getting listed in Yahoo directory.
