First when looking at your website there were some miss spellings and words that don't either fit or go together. Looks unprofessional.

Secondly your font I'm not a fan of..

Maybe the reason your not making much money is because your not advertising to the "right market". Try working on building backlinks.

I once ran a blog about laptops (or notebooks - whatever you call them). My Adsense earnings were truly pitiful. The problem was that my visitors were pretty web savvy - technical users who wouldn't click ad blocks as much as the general public. It sounds like you might have a similar problem, especially as you seem to have some decent traffic.

Since you said you are getting good traffic, but bad click-throughs, I wouldn't worry about Angela's and Paul's backlinks, until you get better clickthroughs.

I agree with the others above. The font is horrible. It's hard on the eyes. At the very least, turn off the bolding. Also, the add placement looks cheezy. You have way too much stuff going on and most of it is unrelated to whatever brought the visitors to your site. You should only have adds for things that are related to the nature of the site, and stick to 2 or three different adds types, max.

As others have mentioned, techies are even less likely to click through on blatant advertising. You are overselling and likely turning off your visitors. Tone it down. Check your analytics and see what keywords are bringing people to your site and focus on relevent advertising only.

Well I dunno about everybody else, but the ads I see on your site have nothing to do with your content. Your blog is about electronic gadgets and the ads I see are from SuperCutePets to Making money with an Internet business.
Only the top banner ad is sort of related. But most tech savvy people don't click on banner ads.

Another tip as far as blogs are concerned is that it's too easy for a blog to become a series of adverts or statements. Try including questions, polls, surveys and getting visitors actively involved.

Not only will that help bump up your visitor numbers, and your retention, but can help to portray a greater impression of openness, which can often result in more people being more open to the idea of exploring links and adverts.

Actively engaged visitors tend to become actively clicking, actively buying visitors more often than visitors who feel preached at, or who feel you're trying ot trick them into clicking adverts in some way.

Yes. Serif fonts (having a curly base) are very difficult to read on a computer screen.

Try Sans-Serif fonts like Arial, Centruy Gothic, or News Gothic...

As touched on previously, you're also facing an uphill battle trying to effectively sell ice to eskimos. In winter.

Trying to sell tech gadgets to people who are tech-minded is never going to be easy unless you have something truly original and cutting edge. Otherwise tech-minded people will make an instant judgement, and go to one fo the other billion and one websites they frequent.

Making the blog more interactive, engaging with visitors will help soften the approach and encourage people on to your side a little more, but it's going to take quite a bit to make any real progress.

The problem here is the layout. There is just too much going on leaving your visitors with too much options. Define what you want your visitors to do then do your best to emphasize that on the top fold of your site. Also, the layout looks a bit unprofessional to me which makes me think that this is really a made-for-Adsense site.

If it should be believed what your daily traffic is then you are doing well in off-page seo but you are not doing well on on-page seo so often try to make changes on pages or add more google ad than i think you can see some good revenue from google adsense....

It isn't the size of the font that's wrong necessarily, but the font itself. It makes me feel as though I have had a few too many whiskeys! It looks blurred, and the shaping/spacing of characters is not clear.

Use a normal, standard font such as Times New Roman or Arial.

That font is considerably better.

There are still several things that need looking at though. One of the things you need to work on is page balance. The real guts of the page, the main content, is so far down the page that it's cut off. In other words, to really see what your site is about and what it contains I have to scroll. Why would I do that?

Very few people scroll when they come across a web page they're not already convinced about. Reduce the waste of space at the top, reduce the size of your headings and get the content right up there where it will be seen quickly.

You also need to really look at spelling, typing and punctuation. For example, I took the following sentence from the very top of your web page right under the main web heading:

"Gadgets Market offers latest & top gadgets news and technolgy reviews .Here you get Ipod,GPRS Modem,Men Gadgets,hi tech gadgets,Pet gadgets and long range of Newest gadgets."

There are so many mistakes here it's hard to count them all! For example, you're going to lose a great deal of credibility with technology-minded visitors if you can't even type 'iPod' correctly!

Always leave a single space after a comma or full-stop, but never a space before.

Keep your capitalisation consistent.

With most of the errors removed your heading might read:

"Gadgets Market brings you the latest and best gadget news and technology reviews. Here you'll find iPod, GPRS, men's gadgets, hi-tech gadgets, pet gadgets and the very latest gadgets to come on to the market."

I still don't like this however. I think for a tagline it's fairly weak. But honestly, it's the least of your challenges!

Congratulations on trying to make it happen. The layout is a little cluttered, but I like that your posts are on a white background. My main quibble would be your content. It seems a bit weak, definitely could use some beefing up. Also, the tech gadget blog genre is very saturated. Expanding into other gadgets, i.e. kitchen, auto, recreational, etc. may open up more ad revenue interest.

I was immediately turned off by the google adwords.

Went to your "shop here" section and found nothing there.

I clicked on your links to be redirected to purchase or read more about the products and the links didn't send me to the place they should (the products check out page), in order to make it more convenient for the visitor to move forward with a purchase.

why dont you move all your navigation links on to one vertical menu on the left side of the page? That would enable you to shift the banner up, and move all the content up so you can see what the site is about when the page loads.

People are putting efforts into their link building but none on the site, if the site looks bad then people won't stay, there will be a high bounce rate and no one will click on anything.

I've realised there's a difference between a made for adsense site and an affiliate site, but even so, it doesn't take that much effort to improve a wordpress blog, change the lay-out, fonts etc.

I spent over 2 months writing the reviews and articles for my site, I got it professionally designed, I made the effort...

Looking at your site I'd say double check spelling, add a bit of colour maybe and definitely do something with the font.

Since you already have good traffic coming into your blog I wouldn't worry about building out more links right now. I would focus 100% on trying to get a higher CTR on your blog since that seems to be the ultimate goal right now.

1.) I would try positioning my ads in different locations of your blog. Move the position of your ads for 7 days. Then take a look at your CTR for that week. If things improve, you know you're doing something right.

2.) Another easy test would be to add a plug in called Adsense Injection into your blog. WordPress Plugin: Adsense Injection

This plug in automatically inserts adsense ads into main content of your blog post. The plugin randomly changes up the position the selects the ad size randomly on each page view. This help fight ad blindness.

I agree that since you've got a tech blog going your CTR will be lower than other verticals.

Auto gadgets CPC $0.88

You need to go back and perform proper keyword research. Some of the keywords you have selected are at the absolute bottom of the barrel. Your anchor keywords for your site should be traffic pullers and moneymakers otherwise what's the point?

The structure of the site should be what gadget seekers would expect. Currently that is not the case. A better layout for this niche would be:

Primary domain
Subdomain: yada yada gadgets
Subdomain: zuma zing gadgets
Subdomain: boda bing gadgets
Subdomain: office gadgets
Subdomain: cool gifts
Etc., etc.,

The front page of your site should mimic a site like Amazon.com

The site is better served being monetized with Amazon and appropriate CPA offers, not Adsense or the affiliate offers you are currently presenting. Additionally, the ads being served by Adsense will net you a very low CTR.

And most importantly, from the looks of it, you need to upgrade your SEO Optimization skills. Your pages are not optimized and you have absolutely NO Internal linking system.

Some other glaringly noticeable glitches:
Your pictures are pixelating something terrible, it looks real unprofessional!
Why have a link on your pictures that takes you to an enlarged version, it serves no purpose. It should go to a page about that product, not to an enlarged picture.
Remove that counter from the bottom of your website. The only time you put one of those up is when you have mad traffic. People we see that and think there must be a reason why you have a low number of visitors and leave.

Do you make much off the Amazon ads that you have on your site?

I have a friend with a tech blog who claims he makes about $80 a month from Amazon - i dont really understand how, the whole tech / gadget niche seems like it would have so much competition.

Although the site certainly looks a lot better, it's still not a shop.

The only 'product' which is visible turns out to be concept only and not for sale.

The 'Shop Here' link directs me to an empty comments page.

Although there's a drop down menu (assuming I have JavaScript enabled) there's really no reason for me to buy from this site. The menu says 'Buy Ipod' [sic] - why would I?

I can buy an iPod from almost anywhere. What are you offering that I couldn't get cheaper from Ebay or Amazon or almost anywhere else? What is different about your site?

If you have that kind of traffic but your having trouble monetizing it the you should go to flippa and sell the site. You should be able to get a couple hundred off someone who thinks that they can monetize it and then you can get back to what you do best. Building sites and driving traffic.

It's clearly possible to make a sale, but firstly you need to have items for sale to begin with!

Before you spend ages posting a barrage of adverts of gadgets for sale I think you need to start to think about offering some form of niche. Mainstream buyers tend to go straight to Amazon, Ebay etc. for buying gadgets and gizmos. If people are arriving at your site through Google you have to ask yourself the question - why?

What is it that has brought them to your site, rather than to Amazon? Why did they decide you had something different to offer?

If you can answer that question you'll be well on your way to working out the best way of targetting those visitors with products that are more likely to result in a sale.

Before offering any advice on SEO (which itself could easily take up much of a library, let alone a single forum thread) a word of caution...

'Trying' a 'new' keyword sounds a bit like having a go at Blackjack armed with your life savings.

Choosing a suitable keyword or key phrase should, like Blackjack, be approached with caution, huge piles of research and a clear understanding of why it is most suitable for you, what the competition is, how you'll promote it and what will help you convert to sales.

Did you just think of the new keyword off the top of your head, or have you thoroughly researched your choice?

Why dont you have a video or something explaining who you are and what your site is about? Make it more personal breaks the ads and post up a bit? I always add google friends connect to my blogs just so that it adds to the sociability and allows people to see that you are authentic and real.

Firstly, as many people have mentioned, your market is a hard one to deal with. It is full of tyre kickers who just like to read about 'cool stuff'. Your domain name will allow you to move into other markets which still call their products gadgets (good choice of name). Home improvement might be one, or house hold items.

Your traffic is coming from social networking sites, try and flip this over to organic traffic - people looking for the product, not reading about something that sounds cool. It is a lot harder to make someone impulse buy rather than direct their buying intentions to a point of sale.

Your point of sale should be Amazon or Ebay. Amazon is beatable in the SERPs so don't be put off by the idea. Find some cool gadgets that sell well and have great reviews on Amazon and do some keyword research to make sure people are looking for them. Target your gadgets on the site to these best selling gadgets on Amazon. There are some great autoblog plugins for Amazon that you can use too. These will allow you to get some long tails for products while you concentrate on your SEO'd money articles.

I like you sites design. Change the AdSense fonts over to Times and make sure the size fits in with the rest of your content.

I don't think a mailing list will work on the type of site you have. You aren't providing useful or targeted information, it is just a list of products. Remove unneccessary choices from your sidebar. You want them reading the article, and that's it. If you categorise properly then maybe have a list of similar products, but that's it.

I use amazon 'autoblogs' with no issues yet. The one I use is a WSO called Amazon Auto eStore Wordpress Plugin or something like that. It is pretty simple to set up and get going.

I do not just use the auto posts as content though. I use the auto content (amazon products) to add extra content to my site and to attract people search for long tails about those products. If you backlink the rest of your site adequately the link juice will also help the other pages. I like to send a lot of links to my category pages for this reason.

I spend a lot of time researching the amazon products that are getting added to the site to see if they are being searched for a lot and if the competition is week. If the above is true I modify the auto posted article to include a proper sales orientated article. The content is original but still includes rewritten Amazon content and user reviews as well as exerts/rewritten content of other sites talking about the product. User forums are great for this. These modified articles are the ones I concentrate on for backlinking and other promotion.

You will also find that the category that your products come from also have a large collection of keywords that you can target. These are the words people use to find the products/gadgets before they find a particular one they like. Write articles for these keywords too and direct them straight to amazon. You don't want the people browsing your site for the products - send them straight to Amazon and let them convert the customer.

To also dilute the duplicate content you get from a straight product/amazon autoblog, I add RSS feed exertsto the footer of my blog. This also gives my pages some relevant outbound links to help set the theme.

Your site is obviously working and I think with some tweaking you can start to make some real cash. If you can change the target audience from the savvy tech guru to the home user who wants to buy a cool new toy you should do really well. Once the market changes you will also get clicks on your Adsense ads

I would also find another way of utilising your knowledge of the social networking sites. You maybe able to make some cash using another type of site if you can convert what you learnt with your gadget site to a more appropriate one. Maybe try sending some of your traffic to a CPA offer on your gadget site just to see if it will pay off.

Its a great domain name but i feel its wasted on a blog as you are competing with some real big boys in this area,i would be more incline to setup a site using the www.associate-o-matic.com script and adding extra forms of revenue like adsense.

You mentioned some of your traffic comes from stumbleupon or social networks. In my experience these site users are extremely tech savvy and only click through if they see something really cool - If they get there and see adsense they're likely to ignore the ads and browse to the content.

I bookmarked a new page on my site once which must have got on to the front page of StumbleUpon or it must have got some kind of prominent placing which resulted in nearly 2000 clicks through to the page but my adsense was the same as it was when I normally have my 400-600 organic visitors - in fact it was a little less! I agree with the people that said aim for the average joe.

Keep it up! Your motivation is excellent, don't let it wane!

Sorry but I still don't like the font you used. It doesn't look professional. Also you are wasting too much space in your theme. I know you are using an auto-blog, but maybe you can edit the post format, they look messy and not well-aligned. Your About page is still the Wordpress default, maybe you can remove it or change its content. Same with the SHOP HERE page, it will only redirect to a blank page with only a comment area field.

One main reason I believe your traffic isn't converting at your Blog's present state is one of your traffic sources. Twitter is a very hit or miss market. Since there is little to no demographic specification when harnessing Twitter traffic, your visitors are going to be of general interest by default. In order to get higher earnings, you must get higher quality traffic. I'm not saying Twitter traffic is bad, but I wouldn't even include visitors from Twitter in your conversion rate calculations. If you do, your conversion rates will seem much lower than they "actually" are when you would have the same amount of traffic if all of it came from the search engines.

To me, Twitter is a back burner type of thing and I wouldn't focus too heavily on it.

Its all about quality content and preselling, if your getting the traffic but no conversions, review it from a non biased angle and see it how the visitor sees it. What are they searching for? Are you providing this etc.

Hi Saru4141,

My first impression of your gadget site was that it needs focus. It's all over the place. The user might be confused - not know what to do - no call to action. People should actually be able to buy these products on your site. I was surprised to find no way to buy, just adsense ads.

I'd like to see more of a focus, categories on the main page (video game gadgets, phone gadgets, cameras, etc.), then some sub categories.

Also, when I read your first block of text, I could hear your accent in the words. The minor lack of punctuation/words left out need to be fixed.

Well one thing you could do is have an actual product for sale...since your site is about "stuff", one could assume people got there because they want to buy said "stuff", however I don't see said "stuff" for sale on your site. You can hand code CJ products to match the post subject or go with something like prosperent which will show products based on user query.

If you have 300 visitors a day you should be making about 5 sales a day if you had effective product placement....which could be a really nice pile of money since your content is high priced technology.

The New site looks much much better.

Honestly. Check out the link in my Sig. If you have all organic traffic this program is a great fit. These guys are on the ground floor doing adsense style ad's for actual affiliate products. I have had great success with them as a supplement to my affiliate mall site. Last moth I made $250 on 1500 clickthroughs.
It's all based on cookies so the more clickthroughs you get the more chance you have at making residual income. I know of guys who have made $500 on a single cookie. Plus if there isnt a good product fit you can still use adsense as a back up.

Looks like it's working.

check out the Prosperent Forums for a thread with debug test instructions (I dont have enough posts to post a link)

Prosperent grabs the search referrer so if you can find your site with a google search for a specific product, you can also test that way.

Also If you are outside of the US (Like me in Canada) you are only going to see products show up that are available to your country

It seems that you are going good in that statistics. Just continue what you are doing because you are in the right path and try to increase your conversion rate because even you have a high traffic for your site but your visitors are not buying what you are selling(can be by clicking adds) to them it is useless.

My 2 cents about your site :

- Times New Roman is not the best font to use on computers. Stick with Arial, Tahoma or Verdana. Make it big so people can read it easily.

- Your AdSense isn't located well. Put it on top (or at the end) the post, within the post. Use flashy colors that can be seen EASILY. Your AdSense font color is too weak and doesn't attract the eye. Great thing about AdSense, make some Big changes and check the results. You can always step back if necessary.

- Why not use an Amazon affiliate link at the end of each post. The goal is to make the reader buy something, am I right ?

- The general feeling of the webpage : it's too weak, too bleak, ... how could I say this ... not colorful enough, maybe ? It would be perfect if you would sell sleeping pills or something. Get the idea ?

The answer is NEITHER! They both take the same amount of energy!

Here's my point... you're pushing low priced items on your site when it takes the exact same amount of energy, time and effort to market high priced items.

If you change your theme, (That layout still doesn't look professional) remove that Warrior Forum intro at the top of your site, and find mid priced to high end gadgets, you're income will start to increase.

If you are working with a tight budget, check out the free themes at: New WordPress Themes - New and Fresh Free WordPress Themes

The only issue with these themes is the fact that they sneak backlinks onto your page footer on some of the themes. If you know a little coding and have got the time you can remove those links.

I feel like making a post like $x in 3 months! because my site is not doing too well and I think I run a tiny bit into the problem some were mentioning before: tech saavy users who might even have adblockers. I don't depend on AdSense for this site, but it's a nice add-on making about $2/week (off Adsense) at the moment. Obviously I want more but I'm thinking of going for another market. I get 500+ visits per day but not enough to make me want to keep the site going forever.

Make sure that your visitors are looking for information and further resources rather than just purchasing anything. In addition, even the placement of Google Adsense Ads on a site can have an impact on their click through rate.

One thing I have noticed is that the ads are on the side and at the top instead of right in front of the visitor. While this niche has a lot of tech savvy users who do not click as often, it has been my experiences that visitors will not click something that is not in front of them. Why not have a 336x280 block in the first post on your home page and on each individual post page making sure the ads are above any images on both pages (the image still draws attention toward the ad, but does not break any Google tos).
Use click me blue (0000ff) for the title and the rest of the ad should match your text color on your blog.
Also, while your not complaining about your earnings per click, add the following to your competitive ad filter and you should see your total earnings as well as earnings per click increase

Today i made $8 from adsense, and my traffic is now 500 to 650/uv daily...Now i plan to sell Adspace on my site..Thanks to all who motivate me on this thread

Someone made the same amount of money from me for writing articles. You should do SEO because a lot of people are looking for help like myself, and you will make more money in addition to your adsense.

lol...Yeah i appreciate with you, Tech, gadgets related sites have tough competition and they are not well performed in adsense instead of other niches, But Tech realted niche also have high CPC too, My CTR avg is 3% to 5%, and it gives me min:0.50$ per click, I also made sales threw Amazon.

Adsense really takes time, you need to have a lot of good content and backlinks...It does not happen fast. It took me a year to see a very nice earning on my websites. Just be patient and dont get discouraged.

It seems your CTR is very low, you want to increase your CTR, 250-300 unique visitors per day, you should be earning almost $8.00 in one day, not three months.

I have sites that only get 150 uniques per day and have broken $10.00 in a single 24 hours period before, and average $5-7 per day.

Doubling your CTR is just as effective as doubling your traffic when it comes to earnings.

Are your ad blocks above the fold? Perhaps try a large rectangle under the header and above the fold (if you don't think that looks to spammy),

I think the reason is your traffic..You have to get more traffic if you want to get more earnings...And try to get visitor from search engine than from twitter or something like that..Hopefully useful..

Do not worry.. Keep contributing on your blog. And also try to change the ad color and see any earning change is occurring or not. Also, Try to make experiment on the ad placement. You will get benefits.

i hv daily 1000+ visits, and very good traffic from Social media!!
i would like to see your site to get an idea, how u convert $10 from very low traffic!!

I hv good traffic, nd i also got thousands of visits from digg and stumble just bcz i hv good profiles there!!

Hello Sir,

Number one tip is ad placement, I place mine right under the heading, before the content, above the fold.

Your niche plays a huge role in your CTR. I target mainly products that people would be googling to purchase. If someone is looking to purchase something, and they search on google, click on your site and right at the top of the page is a google ad that says - SAVE 25% on InsertItemHere -- Chances are they are going to click!

So target products, or things people would be searching for that they want to purchase. You are going to get way more clicks if your domain is on the niche of "cheap nike sunglasses" than if you did a niche like "lindsey lohan news"

2nd, I see you said you get a lot of your traffic from social media. That is notoriously bad converting traffic, so that is also going to lower your CTR.

I get 95% of my traffic from organic listings on Google, Yahoo and Bing. This traffic is much better converting than social media traffic from places like digg, etc.

These are some of the tactics I use, I have many sites that can get as high as 30-40%+ depending on how good of a day I am having.

Keep it up though man! That is some nice traffic from Social Media, add in some organic SE rankings, and you will have a monster of a site on your hands.
