if a keyword has a SEO value of (for example) 1000$ and relatively low to medium competition is this worth investing in?

obviously im not looking to be the next bill gates im just looking not to loose too much time and money...

sorry if this seems like a stupid question but im new to this SEO analysis stuff...or maybe a better question is what is the minimum SEO value YOU would consider before investing in a keyword?

Hi atvking, Im guessing you might be using market samurai...I may be wrong
Deciding whether or not to target that keyword is based on an analysis of your own website or marketing strength. That SEOV would be worthwhile but the ability to penetrate that keyword all depends on your marketing skill and the age/PR or authority of your website.etc...

So pretty much its a personal decision thing. YOu analyze these factors and if you think you can penetrate that keyword...go for it...

    Hi atvking,

I've never actually used a dollar value when deciding which keywords to go for.

I just look at the obvious things

    - monthly search volume

    - competition

    - analyzing what the searcher might be thinking when typing in that keyword

I'm assuming that by "investing in a keyword" you mean setting up a blog, website, or other marketing method around it?

Or did you mean something different?

Remember that it's not an exact figure, just an guideline, so it's really about time versus effort to rank for a given term.
Are you just trying to rank a website for one main term? Usually much better to go for more than just one,

      all the best,
