Help Please! Relevant AdSense Ads?

My site is all about "X" and most pages have AdSense ads about "X". However, two pages had ads about "Y". I rewrote the pages and then the ads were about "Z". I rewrote the pages again and changed the AdSense ad size hoping that Google would re-evaluate the pages and put ads about "X". Unfortunately, the ads were then about "A".

I even used a tool to see what ads were projected for the pages and the projection was for "X". But Google simply will not run ads for "X".

I have finally taken AdSense off of the pages because I think that it is better to have no ads than have the pages about "X", but have ads about "Y", "Z", and "A".

This has been going on for about 2 months. So it is not a case of waiting for Google to adjust the ads to the page theme.

Any ideas on how I can have relevant ads shown?

Thanks for your input.

Try creating a brand new ad unit with a new channel name too. I think that will get things straightened out.

Are you using a key word that may throw adsense off?

Scan your page for any word that can get picked up for meaning something else. One of my pages had "treatment" as a meta key word and I kept getting ads for drug treatment centers. (page was about pets) Another was about old pets and I kept getting ads for retirement communities in Florida...lol...

Try deleting certain words until your "Y" ads go away. Unless it is somewhere in your url for that page. Don't think there is much you can do in that case.

You can also use adsense section targetting to let Google know what areas of your webpage to concentrate on when serving up ads. This is meant to lead to more relevant ads. Here's Google's page on it:

Thanks for your input Steve, Evita, and meterman.

Steve, I had tried new ad channels when I changed the ad sizes, but unfortunately that did not work.

Evita, I thought that the wording might be misleading Google, so I rewrote the two pages. Unfortunately, Google changed the ads, but they were still not relevant ads. What is weird is that I have other pages with similar wording and they show relevant ads.

Meterman, I thought that I would wait several days without ads and then try AdSense again. If relevant ads do not show up, I will try section targeting.

Again, thank all of you for your help.

You may not have the keywords on the page enough for Google to choose ads relevant to the keywords you want it to choose. Moreover, there may not be enough pages for Adsense to advertise in your niche.
