My article is currently result 123 for my target key phrase (2 words, but it's a reasonably small niche).
With 3 words its the first result, but I doubt anyone would search that 3 word combination.

My blog isn't even indexed.

So now I'm wondering, with my other articles, should I link back to my article, or link back to my blog?

Which would be more likely to rank higher, a blog or an article?

Cheers,
Sam

Does your blog have the the same keyword in the domain?

Link back to both your blog and your article of course.

You should also start building out more content around that same topic. Get some of that long tail traffic around your core keyword. It will also give you the opportunity to link back to your desired article.

Focus on your blog, since it has the keyword in it.

Get lots of backlinks and if the competition aren't that tough, you'll certainly get the top position.
