Is there anybody who masters Google maps around?

I did everything that supposed to bring my profile to #1 (15 citations, full reach profile, lot of reviews), but unfortunately i did not move forward at all.
I started to think that the physical location of the business is the problem. My business is located on the upper west side of the city - 6-7 miles from the center. Is it possible that the location is the problem?
Is it possible to add another location, lets say based on UPS mail box, new voip phone number, with the same description pictures and videos, and to get a better ranking? If I do that, do I have to built new citations, reviews etc'? Is it worth doing that?

Does anybody has another solution? may be better than new location?

Any ideas guys?

Google does not share how they pick the ones to show and in what order.
Your location is not a problem, as they will show the top ones normally in
about a 15-20 mile radius in some cases.

Problem is, there may be better ones in their algorithm to show. And if they
fill the slots, you are out of luck.

It's true if they type a city name, the center ones appear more often.
But how about by zip code? If you changed your zip code, then customers
zeroing in on you will not find you. Plus, if you changed your zip code,
people might be upset when they realize you are not where you said you
    were.

There is not a list of things to do to get a guaranteed top spot. Not
sure who told you that. What you are doing is as good as it gets.

But you can't really beat that location thing. Even if you changed it,
there may still be 30 businesses ahead of you are in concrete.

Thanks a lot for answering. If I search by zip than I appear #A - first location.
If I search by NYC, come out #26 or so. By the way on the organic search for the same keywords I appear #5 on the first page.
I can add a second location in the center of NYC with a new phone #. Transportation is easy in NYC. In any case it can be better than to be #26.
I guess I can try, I hope I don't have anything to loose.
Do you have any idea if VOIP phone line is good enough for Google identification issue?

I've read about and taken some Google Local courses and don't claim to be an expert. I'm curious if you have actually analyzed the listings on the map above you. How does your citations, review count (both direct and indirect), depth of listing content, etc stack up against theirs? There is a
service called http://www.universalbusinesslisting.org/ which for $30 can help increase your citation count and submission to local directories. Have you added any Web 2.0 properties with content that mentions your business name, address, and phoe number?
Have you maxed out the 10 photos and videos?
