I was ranking well in google then changed my homepage to a layout where we had less text and more product photo's for better shopping experience for customer and

we lost our SERP badly. We reverted to old homepage, but haven't recovered at all....

Did we make some other error when recovering the old homepage. Is there something wrong with the site that we may be missing...

Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Give it a few days and check back...your site was probably tossed back into the Google dance and it will settle back in a few days or maybe a week. It's normal for that to happen and Google recently changed things up a bit so a lot of the sites are shifting around or a bit under the new algorithm..Don't worry your not being penalized or anything...

I lost my site (which was #3) for about 1 week...it flat out disappeared from the SERPS completely then as quick as it disappeared, it reappeared #2....

If I were in your position, I would do these two things:
    1. Wait - Google Dance can take a while.
    2. Backlink - Use this opportunity to build a few (perhaps 30) good backlinks with the right anchor text.
Mostly, though, this situation seems to call for the character quality that I would rather was not necessary... patience.

    Dohhh

Dunno why people dont check out your site, im not gonna spend too long, as most of hte people i offer advice to see to ignore me for some reason lol.

    I will be blunt!

But you need to address some issues with your site.

Run it thru a validator Result: 251 Errors, 214 warning(s)

Your homepage is so code heavy, I would make it more simple somehow, get rid of the errors there are far too many

Sort out your content, its like money clip spam heaven, how many times do you have to mention money clip ??? and google keyword spamming, you need to write the content natually, not parrot fashion.

Hope that didnt hurt too much lol !

You need to concentrate on quality on your homepage, that means 0 errors and written in perfect english naturally !

as the parrot would say...thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you LOL.

Didn't hurt and we know we need to fix code. We're in process of doing an upgrade to a newer version of DNN that we've heard will help to take care of it.

As far as content, I can definitely have it worked on too.

Well said can't agree more, those onpage factors are important contrary to the "link freaks prayers" you can do a lot for your rankings with the right onpage optimization.

Switching it back and forth isn't helping your case. Stick with the homepage you feel is best and continue building backlinks to it.
