you forgot the BEST of all , linkdiagnosis.com

You know that MANY (if not most) of those other sites use the yahoo API, so the results are all the same. I have NOT found anything better to date than linkdiagnosis.com

Thanks for the list. I usually use Backlink Watch but its maxed out its daily search quota quite often so it's nice to have some alternatives. I've also been using the free version of Traffic Travis lately and that has a pretty good backlink tool although its kinda limited to checking your own links, not looking at the competition.

Its the first result in google for 'traffic travis'. Its quite similar to Market Samurai, few less features but can't complain when it's free!

...I'm usually checking my backlinks on yahoo with:

linkdomain:mysite.xxx

...think that's enough if we talk only about quantity of backlinks

Great list. But most of this backlink checker are only getting information through Yahoo. So I just do a query in Yahoo when ever I want to check my backlinks.

backlinks are when sites link from their sites to yours.

Google love it when people link to your site as it acts as vote for your site and really helps with your search engine rankings.

  PR is another way of seeing how much Google placed onto the site. Hypothetically, the higher the PR of the rank-checker site, the more accurate the information of backlinks are.

Rank Alert is another backlink checker tool, really fine and works great. It also shows page rank of backlinks. My post count is low so i can't post link here.

Backlinking is just as important as other methods in SEO.

Most of those have limitations.

If you have more than one site and want something that can run off your PC use rankerizer. Its not the greatest tool in the world but if you want to get an overview of your SERP, its good enough.
