Hi,

I'm trying to find out if I still have some duplicate content on my site, but
failed to find a method how to find this information.

Do you know of any software? Paid or free - doesn't matter.

Many thanks

JJ

      Hi,
Thanks, but I think copyscape's function is to find
if there is any conent someone copied from you. I need to find duplicates
      on my own site.

But thank you anyway Copyscape is a good program

If you have "duplicate content" on your site - it means you have the same information/content on more than one page of your site.

That is all it means and surely you know if you have done that.

Publishing an article that can be found elsewhere is syndication - not duplication - and is not a problem.

I know what duplicate content means but don't understand what you mean by "surely you know if you have done that". Done what?

It's e-commerce shop built on Interspire platform, with loads of variables (colors, sizes, currency converter), different categories and hundreds of products, so it's not done by me manually - i'm using the system, and this system is supposed to canonicalize everything and generate sitemaps, submit robots.txt etc. The problem is that I made customizations and the changes in the code and add-ons had its impact on the functioning of my e-commerce.
I found accidentally that my currency converter is generating duplicates, but I'm afraid I have more of it.

I just want to let you know my friend, that not everyone is using single sales pages and blogs, I have thousands of pages accessible tru different paths, and it's hard to spot all duplicates

              Best

              Wasn't his question.

Also, he may have dup content without realizing if he's allowed archives, tags, categories, and posts to be crawled and indexed.

You can use Dupefree pro. It can be downloaded for free. It is wonderful tool and really user friendly. It can check duplicity of two contents.

You can also check on doccop.com. This websites checks for plagiarism and duplicity of contents. And it is also for free.

Copyscape is another option but it is paid

    I hope this info helps.

The software lets you detect duplicate content and check if your articles are original.Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across.

      Hi guys,

      theperfectstrategy
Thank you I'll check these programs today/tommorow, it sounds promising.
Also, if anyone here is using Interspire platform (which is pretty good but has the duplicate content issue) - there is very smart module you can download here: Canonical URL & SEO Indexing Module – Interspire Shopping Cart it actually canonicalizes your urls (sorry if I spelled it wrong)

mgtarheels - that's exactly what happened with my ecommerce. They promised that the duplicate content issue is sorted out - and maybe it is - but they I applied too many changes to the code. So I actually didn't know that I have it.

Sparesigma - this is very logical and doable. The only problem I can have is the number of serches I'd have to perform I'd love to find if there is something doing the job for me. It's actually a quite simple script, and I can find someone who will build this

Again - thank you for your replies it helped me a lot.
