Do Follow links on Squidoo?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to make a squidoo page and put in there a DoFollow link. I have tryed some modules like Big Arrow Link, Link List, Text module and Links Voting (Plexo), and all of them make my link as NoFollow.

Is there anyway to fix this and make them DoFollow?

Thanks so much
Fabio

There is no such thing as dofollow. There is no follow and leaving
    it off--just a regular link.

Squidoo links you post as texts in modules do not have the no follow tag.

You can only put 9 outgoing links to same domain or they will suspend you.

This count does not include links in your blog or twitter feed, but since these
are gotten by javascript, the point is moot.

I also believe that adding the big picture module and hyperlinking that to
a website does not count in the total of 9 as well.

The comments you leave on other lenses are no follow.

      Thanx for this...
To your knowledge paulgl is this limit per squidoo account or per domain?
In other words can you have a squidoo profile with 10 lenses linking to a website 9 times and then have another profile linking to the same website again or you think it's a limit for that domain?

You need 3-4 'modules' ( eg text boxes etc.) on the lens and then your links automatically become 'dofollow'. I forget the exact number off hand but it's either three or four.

I have no idea what that means.

There is no dofollow and you can't force google to do anything.

Google chooses to count a backlink only when "they" feel like it.

But it really does not matter to me. Backlinks and the money I get from squidoo
are just icing on the cake. I use it mainly for funneling, not backlinks.

Squidoo has made some adjustments to the "no follow." Normal users won't
      need to worry.

Four modules, If I recall correctly, are needed to prevent the links from turning into nofollow. And the intro text module does not count.

This looks like a lot of work, but for an important/personal site it might be really good?

Or do you mean you can actually advertise up to 9 sites?

Yes, until you have built a lens up with 3 - 4 modules it will stay in 'WIP' mode which means 'work in progress'. After then, in your Lens view, you will see a green tick. That means that your lens is out of WIP mode and will have dofollow links.

I have 5 modules, unique content and a good mixture and it is still WIP

Why do people do this? Posting something that is false,
not reading the previous answers, looking like a clown.

If you are going to make simple, one line answers, at least
let it be a joke or give some explanation.

To just post a cargo answer that is false is just a waste of
        WF time.

First of all, no follow links do get crawled by google. Also, previous posters in this thread have already stated that squidoo links are do follow as long as your lens has at least four modules. Which is good practice to do anyways

            Good luck!

I am into linkbuilding and looking into Squidoo. I am trying to make keyword links with html link code in the comment section but I am not able to because I am triggering a Spam filter. I don't know why because I see lots of comments doing exact the same and even far worse by only adding keyword links and not even making a comment. Any idea how this is possible?

Linkbuilding via squidoo comments is not prudent.
You will look like a spammer.

Some people turn off html in comments. I do.
Some may leave it, and delete some.
Squidoo may a have newer spam detector now.

The way to get real links on squidoo is to build a lens.

Just built my first "real" lens. I made one in the past strictly for links and obviously it was terrible. It was actually kind of fun.

I just re-purposed a bunch of content, made a pretty killer lens if I do say so myself. Probably make a few more just cause they're kind of fun!

Make yourself an account and a post. Then you will understand what the modules are ... in short: some more clicks you have to made in their interface ... good luck!

When commenting on Squidoo, I've found it best to link back to your squidoo lens rather than your main site, while having the lens link back to your main site in a text module.

If I look at a squidoo page and the source code, I see this:
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

So at the start of the page it is saying do not follow or index any content on the page?

What you do is you edit the text module and use the href code to create a hyper link. If you want more information regarding this tips then click here

I believe you should not worry too much about dofollow or nofollow because if you are only concentrating on dofollow links it looks unnatural in google's eyes and they'll perhaps view your site as spammy.
I agree but if you are using the web 2.0 page as a buffer sie to protect the money site, it is a total waste of time as your money site will gain no juice from all the links behind.

You do not need to make different profiles. What he said is per article. But I could not understand why you need 9 links from one article??
Because to get PR value from an article so that your domain will get benefit, primarily the article should have PR value. What Pr value you will get from a spam article??

An article with 9 link to your domain will be considered as spam and Google is never going to give any rank for that article. It is always a good idea that the articles you are submitting to squidoo to be a good article so that by the time pass you will get more link value from that article

I have an article which is having 14 out going links in squidoo. Squidoo does not care as long the links are benefiting the article and readers (reference). And the trick is to add your link also as a reference link.
Best Diwali Messages, Greetings and Quotes

The above article is having PR3 (article itself) and having 14 out going links. I have added lot of outgoing links so that Google will consider my link also organic

previously their system was toggling the no follow and do follow(nil) as per ranking. Now all outgoing links are no follow

Well, you obviously have not read anything from squidoo. This is an oldy moldy
thread, I supposed, dug up to spam...er...post a link?

Squidoo is now global nofollow, except to anything on the squidoo.com domain.

They did INDEED care about outbound links. They limited them, and they
limited links to the same domain.

And now they have more limits to combat exactly what you are doing.

You seriously need to go read the recent updates squidoo made. Not
only have they implemented nofollow, but have made many other changes
to combat spam and junk lenses.

This thread in April 2013 is irrelevant. One danger of looking for old threads
to dig up to pump up a post count.
