All my sites went from n/a to 0. I was hoping for a little more from my site that has about 1200 backlinks.

I live right next to google and I don't see any changes here, but I did see someone post about a grey bar on WMW. It is about time we saw something so I hope this is it at last. I'm seeing a huge jump in traffic to my site today from google.

Hey, that's cool. You can keep an eye on search queries in Webmaster tools for todays date and see if it was more organic search traffic as a result of where you were showing up in the SERPs. Find the keyword you jumped up on and try to keep it up. After all, it is about the rankings and not really the PR!

Most probably because you weren't looking properly or because the toolbar didn't refresh when you went from one site to another which does happen sometimes

I can give you several examples of sites that 5 months ago had very few links and now have over 30,000 and are still a pr0 according to the toolbar because it hasn't been updated for over 5 months

        There hasn't been an update

First of all, the traditional the Google PR ranking you see from N/A to 10 does not actually exist! It just has the merest relationship with how PageRank actually works in the real "Google" world.. Every other week you see talk of the latest PR update but it is frankly a red herring. PageRank is continuously evolving, the toolbar PR is just a simple indicator and a snapshot that changes every few months. Does it bare any resemblance to what the PR of a webpage actually is? Yes and no but the bottom line is, don't take the Google toolbar PR as gospel.

Just get on with doing the important things with your sites like writing content and promoting them and forget about refreshing your PR toolbar every minute. You are just wasting your precious time!

This article is a bit old but explains about the real Google PR and the indicator you get on the Google toolbar..

No doubt, but selling a link on a site with a verified PR of 5 and a "hopefully" PR 5 when the next update occurs isn't the same thing. There are lots of reasons why some of us need actual displayed PR. Maybe i'll sell one of my sites and say what I "think" the PR is really worth now instead of the actual displayed PR :-)

There no doubt have been some instances of individual sites gaining, and losing PR, over the course of the past 4 months or so. BUT, there just hasn't been any widespread PR updates (like occurred in the first week of Jan and the first week of April, for instance).

I was under the impression it is due to happen by the end of this month and published in the beginning of Oct. Is this right? I can remember that the last update happened at the end of June and was published the first week of July. This means that the next update SHOULD happen by the end of this month. Of course, since no one really knows for sure, Google can change the rules of the game. After all, it is their company and they can do whatever they want.

There really is no set timetable. Yes, the two mass updates occurred 3 months apart this year (first week of Jan and first week of April)... but there has not been a mass update since then.

There wasn't a mass update in June. There is no doubt that some sites have experienced some PR increases and decreases since April, the last system-wide PR update was the first week of April. No one knows when, and if, there will be another mass PR update (Perhaps it will occur on a more individual-basis from now on, who knows).

Most of the sites in this world are PR 0. They even don't know about SEO or PR thing.

Hence PR 5 is Very Good. There is always less competition on the Top!

          • I thought PR is updated in Real time at least in googles eyes, but the "value" that is visible to us is only updated quarterly.
