Hey everyone,

I just needed some guidelines on to how to setup my wordpress blog to be fully optimized for multiple keywords.

Here is what I know and have done:

-all in one seo plug in installed
-homepage is targeting one keyword
-I have the usual about, privacy and contact pages
-under the all in one seo settings, everything contains the homepage keyword
-the sidebar contains a text box with affiliate banner, recent posts, categories and tags

Now, I have several other keywords that I want to target with this one site. How should I go about doing this?

-create a single page targeting one keyword at a time (includes content)

All help is appreciated and if you guys need more clarification as to what I'm asking for, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You dedicate 1 page for a certain KW, (check KW density and make sure the main KW is at the top)

Also build LSI keywords into each page (related KW's)
Use the pretty link plugin aswell for page SEO

Make sure the KW is in the page title and description.

You are best grouping your keywords into tight themes/categories and build your structure out from there.

If you aren't looking at making your site too huge then a direct link from your home page to the subpages can work too (Each page will link to every other page).

You can target multiple keywords per page but the easiest way to achieve this is by monitoring Google Webmaster Tools for search engine impressions and reacting to what keywords you are showing up for. You will find that as your site gains authority (off-site promotion), your page will begin to improve its rankings for tougher and shorter keywords. It is sometimes hard to predict what you might show up for so the GWT takes the guess work out of the equation.

If a go the route of creating separate pages for each keyword would that not be good enough? Im just wondering how it will appear on the website itself?

I mean right along the bottom of the header is where the pages contact, about and privacy are listed. If add more pages how do I display them properly on the website?

Add a pages widget on the sidebar with all the pages?

I use a pluin called - Simple Sidebar Navigation

It is pretty handy at creating custom navigation if you want to go that route.

Another popular method is linking to category pages which then link out to the articles. You can create custom category pages that contain a unique introduction...these will allow it to rank for a keyword too.

If you category was "Compact Widgets" you could create a custom category page that talks about Compact Widgets and then at the bottom link to "blue compact widget", "red compact widget", "compact widget reviews", "compact widgets for the home" etc.

If you use that plugin i mentioned first, you could have each page in the "Compact Widget" category linking out to every other post in the "Compact Widget" category in the sidebar.
