Anyone ever use 3-way links to move up in the SERPs? If so, how did it work for you?

Actually nowadays, reciprocal linking has lesser benefits. It would be better if you build links in a one-way forum because having high quality link popularity is a great way to rank on SERPs.

I didn't even know someone started a "program" for 3 way links. LOL

Yes, I've used 3 way and 4 way links. And yes I use some one on one reciprocal links.

Right now lots of people will parrot what they've read elsewhere and tell you this doesn't work at all. That's why they work fine for those of us who actually use them.

They aren't magic - they are backlinks and their worth depends on the quality of the sites in the exchange. I don't do them a lot but they provide some good backlinks when I do and I'd rather have a few good 3 and 4 links with related sites than a bunch of forum profile crap. Just my take on it.

I will say that with Google Caffeine, the links are secondary, still important but the main focus must be on activity: update frequently, quality unique content, interaction with social media.

But, I used 3 way links, by definition you must have the following structure:
    A-->B-->C-->A

If you want to get sophisticated you create a "Wheel" with many elements.
    You have:
    1) In middle the main site, we call it the "money site"
    2) Around the money site you have many mini sites pointing to each other in a circle, and the circle is close (X-->A): A-->B-->C...-->X-->A and
    3) Each mini site is pointing with a link to money site.

Yeah, the ones I'm looking into are 3waylinks dot net and automatedlinkbuilding dot com. They are link networks, so your site (A) will link to another site (B) in the link network, which will link to yet another site (C) in the network, then back to your site (A). Has anyone used these?

The most important thing is that links you get are related, quality inbound links definitely will help to get higher SERP. A link is a link either its one way link, reciprocal link or three way link as long as it is a good inbound link and source of the link have high PageRank and of course non-spammy site, it will help your rankings.

Though one way links is much preferred because your websites will not share the link juice with other website and building too many reciprocal links or three way links may end up having too much outbound links which make search engines hard to follow all of them.

    Chris,

I have used it since it started. I only submitted 1 site to it. Within 6 months I was top 3 out of over 200 million results for a reasonably competitive term.

I have not touched the site except for maybe 10-15 blog posts since I submitted it.

It has never been outside the top 3 for 3 years now.

The domain name has nothing to do with the subject matter and it is a crappy .info domain

It is my main list building site. I reckon 3way is very good

Nice, that's excellent to hear. Are you doing them yourself with your own little network of sites, or are you using a paid network like 3waylinks dot net and automatedlinkbuilding dot com?

I was a beta tester for 3waylinks dot net. Submit a site with up to 3 different anchor text. Your links get drip fed around using the following

        60% for keyword 1
        30% fr keyword 2
        10% for keyword 3

As I said, my site is basically a lead capture page with a bit of text, it is a .info and has been top 3 for ages now.
You can add more sites for free if they are on different class C IP's

        3waylinks is great IMO

I've used 3 way links now for some time and even though the quality of the blogs in the network varies greatly there is nice ip and PR diversity and it all works on autopilot.

Can be a good way to build up links to a blog you are using to get your money site backlinks indexed for instance..

I've also use this technique usually this series of link building tactic is gaining backlinks to your site which means if you do this linking in related sites the content must be high quality and well optimized page.

I did not have the same results as some of you here got. My 3 way links works for a few months and then later.. all my pages disappear from page 1 and they are just starting to resurface again..

Yeah I think I'm going to give AutomatedBacklinks dot com a try, it's only 7 bucks a month, so I'll see where it takes me. The only thing is, if I decide to quit, all the links I have accumulated will disappear. But hey, it's worth a shot...I've got nothing to lose but 7, 14, or maybe 21 bucks!

3 way linking works great for me. I have a main site and a few small sites and inter link them together. The small sites don't have many backlinks and still get page rank and rank ok.
