Wrote my articles - submit or re-write

Hi everyone,

I've finally written ten 600 word articles that I've now placed on
my new site that is now live.

Can I submit my articles to the directories as is, or should
I re-write the articles before submitting?

The #1 reason for doing this is to build backlinks.

If I re-write them, should they be shorter in length (around 400 words)?

Appreciate any comments/suggestions.

cheers,

I tend to submit them as is to EZA, and then re-write a little and submit to some of the 2nd tier directories (isnare, goarticles, etc.) and post to web 2.0 sites like Squidoo or Hubpages. It kid of depends on what the purpose of posting the articles is -- is it to drive traffic to your site? Or just to build backlinks?

      Thanks for your quick reply!

The #1 reason would be to build backlinks.

I think that my best backlinks are when they also bring me traffic.

Think about if you could rank those articles well in the search engines, and they linked back to your site. So a lot of people would look at those articles, and click through to your site...and they also count as backlinks.

You can submit them as they are to artilce directories. However I can suggest you from my experience, that you rewrite them and make them shorter. I have had higher CTR with articles around 350 words than with longer articles.

      Thanks Alex for your comments!

I neglected to put in my original post that the main reason
for submitting them is to build my backlinks.

Based on that, would you still rewrite the articles?

      cheers,

Take those articles on your site and rewrite them or spin them and post to EZA, if you use them. When you post them onto EZA, link back to your home page and to the original article on your site.

From the Articles you posted to EZA, rewrite them or Spin them and use a distribution software so that you can mass distribute them to a bunch of other article directories, blogs, forums, websites and so-on. Make sure you link these new articles to the original article on your website and to the EZA article as well.

I find this to work VERY VERY well when it comes to building backlinks by way of article marketing. You definitely move up the SEs faster than most - always dependent upon your competition.

But remember, what works for others, might not work for you.

Can you submit them as-is? Sure.

However, I personally don't like to submit the same articles to directories after I've published them on my site, for 1 simple reason. I don't want people to read one of my articles on a directory, like it enough to click on the link, then head to my site and see the exact same article. If you don't offer your visitors something new, they're not as inclined to stay. However, if they see some new interesting content, they're much more likely to stick around and check out what else you have to offer. If I have a topic that I really want to get on both my site and the directories, I'll rewrite the article and make it different.

I totally agree with this statement! Mainly because I myself was trying to find info on something and while I clicked on links in articles/blogs that I read, I was disappointed that it lead me to the same exact write up with nothing else added. I didn't stay on that page because I just read it 2 minutes ago, which means that I didn't stick around to click on any of the affiliate or promotional links being offered.

If you submit them "as is" to other sites, make sure they are indexed first on your site before you send them off to other sites. Get them indexed and found on your site first.
