    Yes they rank and help increase your website's visibility but ultimately they disappear.

    Depends on the "authority" of the websites they are up in competition against and the extent of SEO work you do on the same articles on your own site.

    Usually because of the "authority" of the sites on which many syndicated articles are displayed, the duplicates often even rank higher than the original on the author's site.

    NO. Definitely NO. They would rank but will surely drop. I agree with Dele. Only "high authority" sites will gain on this idea. They can copy yours but you can't just copy theirs.
