Creating Blogs for Links

Hi All,

I'm interning at a software company to learn about IM. I'm mainly doing the social media side of things (FB, Twitter, commenting). I've done some linkbuilding (directories, syndicating articles on Squidoo, eZine, etc), but I want to do more.

I'm wondering if it's worth my time (in Google's "eyes") to create .blogspot blogs, which I will put legitimate content on, to link back to my site?

Does a link from a Blogspot blog, one which doesn't have much linkjuice, count for anything?

Or is this just a total waste of time?

    If they are blogs without any backlinks, you're just wasting your time.

      They're a waste if time if they are the same domain as your main blog. If you have a blogspot blog and a support blogspot blog then Google will count your internal links from being as the same C-class ip.

      Yes, it is worth it to make new blogs. Some link sources are better than others. If you make a new blog all the easy link sources open up again. As the previous poster said they are worthless without links. I find it's easier to index your own subdomain though then some social bookmarking sites or Go Articles.

        Most definitely...backlinks within new blogs are worthwhile. Each time my company sets up a blog/website for a client, we discuss with the client various methods to help improve traffic to the blog/website. We remind the client that backlinks basically are "votes." The more "votes," the better.

    Its very effective to have a blog post if your blog is related to your site.
    Different topics but the must be related, the relevancy is very important for Google in indexing sites.
