Keyword List Different For Google AdWords Campaign?

Someone recently told me that the list of keywords/keyword phrases you use for a Google AdWords campaign needs to be different from the keyword list you use for, say, a Bing CPC campaign.

Is this true? If so, how does the keyword list need to differ?

Thanks!

    Hi Ken,

You will find that the lists you use will likely be very similar. The only reason they will differ is because Bing recognizes words differently from adwords.

    For example:

In Adwords you could use terms such as:

    Blue Widget
    Blue Widgets
    Red Widget
    Red Widgets

In Bing however you would not need the plural. It recognizes the similarities between keywords and considers them to be the same word. It is all to do with different PPC platforms having different variations of Match types, e.g. in Adwords we have broad, phrase, exact whereas Yahoo had advanced and tactical.

Theoretically though your root keywords should be the same.

    Cheers

    Ross
